That's actually, not a bad offer for Edmonton if they protected against top 5. If I were Edmonton, I would seriously consider trading Draisaitl. Approach some teams who are rich with young talent, but needing star power, and make a deal that gives them 3 or 4 solid players and prospects with speed who can support McDavid. Kids that are 19 - 23 and ready for the NHL. Buffalo, Philadelphia or Colorado maybe? I'd then sit Lucic in the press box until he agrees to be moved to any team in the league that will have him, and I'd do what's necessary to move him out with 50% retained salary.
