Luke Schenn | #2 | D

If this guy was a bit grateful for the opportunity to ressurect his career, he would've accepted a 1-year, $1.5M by now....  he's probably holding out for 2-year, $4M....

Yup, he wants term.  I think there will be a team that gives him two years.  I hope it’s us.

Sure, I'm cool with 2 years, $1M per. He better not disappear again...

Ew guys, no.  I loved what schenner brought but he's slow as molasses.  He's a one year contract type of player at best at this point of his career for close to minimum salary

Agreed.  Don't think it would be wise to give a borderline AHL / NHL player a 2 year deal.    These kinds of guys are emergency type players on 1 mil per one year deals.....

Go back and read some of the posts from game nights..

Luke was getting great comments on his legwork, foot speed and gap coverage.

I dare I say it on here., a better Defence man than Hutton.

Luke brings a larger game, is a presence, a force, and according to Boeser, a fantastic teammate who had his eye out on EP and Hughes.

Vocal,

Hm, that's fine but I disagree.  I watch every game. Schenn was good I'm not disputing that, he kept it simple but it was a small sample size, and to me he still looks quite slow he just wasn't around long enough to be exposed.  I would be more than fine with a 1 year minimum salary contract and I think Schenner would be happy with that as well.

He deserves to test the waters.. chances are nobody else watched his last few games with us..  but for me, I’d sign him term up to 3 years but moveable..

Interesting fact. Schenn and Edler were teammates on the Kelowna Rockets in 05/06.

Lol. Must be bored and surfing my Hockey DB. Meyers, Schenn, Edler were all Kelowna Rockets teammates in 05/06.

I would not be surprised to see Schenn end up in Toronto again.

He played there for many years and his cost fits Toronto's budget.

I'd like to see Vancouver get him on a 1 year contract, but I expect he wants a longer term.

If you are signing for minimum and 1 yr makes sense to do it with a shot at a cup. Good luck Luke!

Seems silly the Canucks couldn't beat that.

Probably going there for a chance to win.

Nothing more than a 7th defenseman there though.

And there goes Hughes’ big brother protector.

I'm thinking it's the Florida tax law that appeals to Schenn. We would have had to offer north of a million to compete.

and he signed for almost the league minimum...we couldn't sign him for 2 years at 1.6M total??

Never fear... Myers or Benn will fill that role.

Benn has already said he is ready to step up and act as a big brother to some of the Canucks rookies.
