SilentSam
Granlund on pace for his 3rd 60 pt season, at 26yrs in mid prime. Fiala not there yet.. maybe in a couple years. I think this is a good one for Nashville.

Greenway, Kunin, Eriksson Ek, Donato, Fiala, Kaprisov is their new future. Not so long ago it was Niederreiter, Coyle, Granlund and Zucker with Zucker still on the block. Minnesota is one of only 3 teams who has made the play-offs in each of the past 6 seasons. They never went further than the 2nd round and lost each time in the 1st round the past 3 seasons. Fletcher kept on making moves on the fringes. Leopold hired Fenton with the mandate to shake up the core but he didn't want a rebuild. Earlier this month he gave Fenton the green light to do whatever it takes to build a contender even if it means missing the playoffs. From Russo behind the Athletic's paywall: As somebody in the know told The Athletic, “We’re not in this to set the record for making the playoffs 20 years in a row. We’re in it to win the Stanley Cup.” As another source told The Athletic, “There comes a point where you have to stop spinning your wheels and change things up.”
HerrDrFunk
Is Minnesota betting on Fiala improving? Because otherwise, Nashville handily won this trade.

Nave
I think Nashville won this trade. Granlund is a real good player. Although Minnasota gets a young player, and this helps their tank. Fully expect them to fall out of a playoff spot.

Fiala was drafted the same year as Virtanen. Poile thinks he will be a 30 goal scorer in this league. He just needs more development time.
