The guy is not captain material. He is big, mean, and skilled, but he is all of those things for himself, not for his team. And the converse effort in EP40. Guy is on his back down and out still making a slick pass. Benn should’ve played baseball after all.

xereau
I saw the pre-game comment by Green about Goldobin. I felt he had his best complete game as Canuck last game. Back checks. Board work. Forecheck. Blocking shots! Yeah, he made a mistake. SO WHAT?!? And this is how they reward him, by sitting him? Saw some other greasy comments by Green after this game too. Short. Curt. Pissy. Wonder if he thinks his job is on the line?

Liked how Bo high fived Leivo after the shoot out goal, real bonding going on there. I love the guy, but can Shorthouse try to not sound so damn excited when the other team scores???? Go Canucks Go! I believe!! Schaller hasn't played 40 games this season, he should have a lot of energy and be injury free.

Short. Curt. Pissy. Wonder if he thinks his job is on the line? We are out of the playoff hunt because our powerplay sucked for an extended period, the coaches didn't fix it, but it's their job. I hear Guddy is benefiting from some good coaching he's getting in Pitt but didn't get here. And now we have this kid with sick skills who has a great attitude and, needs to keep it going, but is improving, and he has to put up with this crap. Go figure. Shirotashi
Am I the only one that's rolling my eyes saying "now they score..." I cant stand Leafo, and Schaller??? I literally forgot he was on the team, no joke. Im obviously team tank but I don't mind a win IF its a game like today and if our future stars that score. Good god cant wait for Leafo and Schaller to be set adrift down the swirling toilet flush that is their careers so we can forget those two logs and focus on getting some comets up or something. How? The? F? Is Schaller on the team but no Archibald?? Boggles the mind.

With about 8:40 left saw him use his body to strongly angle a guy off..kid looked like a pro. We don't really know what we got with lots of these young D..but who's to say 2 or 3 don't totally surprise us? I'm optimistic there. & as I posted about a wk back, I'd like Bulldog to get 50 or 60 games next yr. He's an underappreciated gem! A gem with a big flaw in it,guy is too inconsistent. Moe Knows
Good Game. Good Goalie (ours, not their cheater). Good for Schaller...but he's no Honey Badger..who I still can't get over we could have had for like 1.5 Million compared to the 3+ Mill we paid for the other 2 guys..Yes I know I need counselling to help me move on

Nuxfanabroad
When Loui stopped to sign a Dallas fan's jersey(just as the game ended), it reminded me of the twins signing a stick for Patrick Sharp. Anyone else get the vibe he might know he's saying goodbye to arenas/places he's fond of?
*Buzzsaw*
Anyone who doesn't think NHL HQ isn't biased versus the Canucks please watch Petey's penalty shot. By any interpretation of the rules the goalie threw his stick... even if he didn't entirely intend to, he is responsible for holding onto the stick... and he didn't and it flew out of his hand as if it had been thrown and completely destroyed EP's scoring opportunity. But NHL Central were probably surfing porn or watching the Raptors game... never mind that it affected the game and the league standings... Dallas got a point they didn't deserve and may keep their Wild Card spot because of that point. Overall not unhappy the Canucks won... but not overjoyed either... it means less chance of getting a lucky pick. Good game by Petey... could have had 3 goals... barely missed putting it under the bar a couple times. Schaller obviously had good results, but I still think those goals were mostly either luck, (for the first one) or being perfectly set up by Petey for the second. The key player for the Canucks in this game was Markstrom... he should have gotten the first star. He is playing lights out... just not making any mistakes at all. If he can see it, and the puck isn't deflected, he is stopping it. One thing I really like about Marky's play which is something he has also developed this year: He is handling the puck with a huge amount of confidence... in fact I think he has decided if the D is gonna bobble the puck in the corners a lot, then he will take the situation into his own hands, He is now getting first touch whenever he can, and then assessing the situation and passing it to whoever of his D is under the least pressure... which is improving the percentage of times the team is able to clear the zone. Overall there is absolutely no doubt in my mind he is the MVP for the season at this point... yeah Petey is having a great rookie year, but Marky is having an even better one as the #1.
