I see your New York 200,000 and raise you Georgia's 340,000.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/oct/19/georgia-governor-race-voter-suppression-brian-kemp

And for fun, I'll add Texas' failed/stalled attempt to purge 95,000.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/04/26/texas-voter-purge-state-settles-lawsuit-over-attempt-trim-voter-lists/3593055002/

As for your New York 200,000, a good chunk of those were Dem voters in Brooklyn (just over 63,000 of that 200.000).  So your retort is not quite as strong as you think.

https://www.vox.com/2018/9/13/17855254/new-york-city-voters-rolls-purges-missing-names-2018-midterms

In Brooklyn alone 117k voters were purged, mostly Hispanics and Asians.

Regardless of who got removed, the fact remains that Brooklyn that Clinton won with 80% vote, engaged in voter suppression.

Just like Maryland and Illinois are really good at gerrymandering.

My point was I don't think the dems have a chance. I thought Sanders would be the next potus but he doesn't seem to have the steam he had in 2016. @SabreFan1 kind of gave me a good explanation on this.

I don't think Bernie has a chance to become POTUS, especially after alienating half of his followers after acquiescing to and then backing Clinton last election.

Biden on the other hand has a decent chance as long as he doesn't wimp out on anything or says something monumentally stupid that he can't take back.

So far, Biden seems to have the same immunity to his constant stream of gaffs as Trump does.

Sure, but will it hold up if/when he becomes the nominee?  Right now the Democrats have 25 horses in the race so any screw-ups are diluted to a certain extent.  Once he becomes the nominee, all eyes will be on him.

The other thing that has me pulling for someone else is the fact that "establishment" candidates rarely succeed on Presidential elections. Kerry, Clinton, McCain....

It seems like people need to get excited about a candidate, they way they did about Trump and Obama before him. I'm still expecting someone "new" to emerge from the pack as the race for the nomination proceeds...Harris, Buttigeig, Booker, Beto and yes, Yang....

...lets at least make Trump think up some new insulting nicknames, fer cryin out loud....

New and different backfired with Trump so I think independents and moderates are more likely to go more towards establishment this time around unless someone like Buttigieg can get people excited enough to vote for him.

Well, it backfired from the point of view that he's been a complete disaster, but he did get elected for precisely that reason....

now that is a hefty price tag... what about all the people who worked their butts off to pay their way through college with minimal debt ?

I'd be curious to know how much of that debt is for out-of-state schools, and not doing junior college for the first two years.  Also be good to know the fields of study involved.  If someone doesn't have a real plan to earn a good living from their degree, why the hell should everyone else be asked to support their stupidity?  Of course, those who do have a plan likely don't need help, cuz they'll get a suitable job.

While going elsewhere for school can be a great experience,  it is a luxury, and should be considered as such.  Student debt is a self-made problem.

Is Bernie next going to pay for all the Teslas out there that their owners can't really afford?

Barney looks awesome in your pic. That's one handsome one eyed lad.

Yeah, Bernie is being a bit silly here imo.

Thanks! I've always been more of a cat person, but I love this little guy so much, I'm being converted.  Trying to use that pic as wallpaper but windows keeps twisting it to landscape to make it fit "better".  Driving me crazy.

There are a number of problems with post-secondary education here.  Debt is a symptom of some of those problems (and a few others), and sadly completely self-inflicted.  Anyone (Bernie, Warren,...) who wants to just cast away any of that debt is out of touch.

Not sure moderates and independents will vote for him again now that they've seen how it went.  The only ways I can see Trump winning is if he fires up the base into a frenzy which in turn brings in record numbers of conservative voters and/or the Democratic nominee is even more unlikable than Hillary or does something that completely implodes his/her campaign.

So what you are saying is that taking a 250k loan to get a degree in humanities/liberal arts is a bad idea?

I think his strategy will be to beat the "socialism" drum. That's probably good news for Biden, but bad news for Bernie...

....again, I'd like to see new blood, but getting rid of Trump is the most important thing...

Could the Dems run a Biden/Bernie ticket?

I thought no way Trump beats Hillary, so who the heck really knows how this will all turn out.  Just no more war mongers.

That's why I think Bernie would have lost bad to Trump had he won the primary in 2016 and would this time around as well if he beats the long odds and manages to secure the nomination.
