The NHL needs to step in and hold the Bruins and Debrusk accountable for this.

Neurological disorders and head injuries are serious.  Goes to show the lack of knowledge around concussions and the repercussions of not recovering from them properly can do to a person's health in general.  Need to educate players to understand that "playing through it" is probably the dumbest mantra regarding concussions.

Here is what the Conn Smythe Trophy voting looked like:

Two reporters from the “St. Louis” Dispatch” and two from Boston rags get votes, and non from Western Canada?

Do those who vote change each year?

i agree with the result, bu don’t understand the distribution of the reporters (who we all know aren’t really reporters) who get a vote.

maybe @CanadianRugby will finally manage to overcome his fear of Marshrat living under his bed.

I've got worse things under my bed.

And first you turn on Vancouver and cheer for the Bruins, then you turn on the Bruins and cheer for the Blues?  I guess that's why you got so mad when I called you a turncoat, truth hurts son.

Shows how good st louis was that only one boston player was even nominated for the smythe.

just to be clear, or play devils advocate, the blues are not a great team. their special teams were horrid and the penalty killing not much better. they don't have a francisable system and they have no superstar or marquee player. what they had was a commitment to their system and to each other underscored with a kickass hardhat and lunch bucket work ethic. but if it was good enough to stop the bruins cold it's all good.

Tarasenko is pretty damn good, as is their blueline.  Pietrangelo and Bouwmeester both gold medalists for Canada and Parayko has to be in the mix for Beijing if we send the pros.  Binnington basically did what Cam Ward did as a rookie and put a solid, but not exceptional team on his back.  Blues proved defense still wins championships in an era of "new-age", offensive specialists who struggle in their own end.  Hopefully we're able to get some more size on our blueline.

To add on:

Zdeno Chara was playing with a broken face and is going to need 5-6 weeks of recovery.

To add on:

Brad Marchand was playing with a broken face....but he was born with it and was able to adapt playing as Ratface.

Their mascot Stormy is a pig.

No other "mascot" was used in same manner.   No offense but as a 'Canes fan, few would find that works in compare to the other animals used for the other teams.

I just find whether is be the media or even the Don Cherrys of the world, hard for them to get respect.   They are a good hockey organization and proved this year they are an up and coming team.
