Sportsnet 650 Satir Shah reported that the morning segment with Jim Benning when he joined Perry Solkowski, James Cybulski, and Rick Dhaliwal that the price on a top 4 dman and top six forward are steep and the value of the Canucks players "outside of the core 4" perceived by other teams (Virtanen, Demko, Juolevi etc) have not been received well by the Canucks management. I know thats not enough, Zucker strikes me more as a really effective two way forward, with great speed and defensive instincts, great off the rush. We're too emotionally attached to dime-a-dozen players. I don't think Benning will trade Virtanen. Gaudette, I don't think he will either. But if it comes to acquiring Zucker? Rask for Niederreiter (w no homework done on Rask) Granlund for Fiala which are terrible deals, and Coyle for Donato, which was an even deal. They are looking for goal scoring. They wanted to trade Zucker to get 82pt Kessel. Gaudette had 12 points in 56 games last season in a heavily sheltered role. First he was rumoured to be traded to Calgary at the deadline, but the deal was sent in seconds too late, so it was denied. Then he was supposedly in the Kessel deal that Phil wouldn't waive for. And now, he's right back out in the rumour mill. However, the Wild are giving away a lot of good players lately - Niederreiter, Coyle, Granlund.
