That heavy forward lineup is a one way street to becoming the Toronto maple leafs of the West.

No proper defense imo. Need to invest more money there.

I hate to say it but if we could trade Boeser for a top4 shutdown D I’d do it.

Maybe Lind is ready, and we could move Jake?  Bess can drive a line.

Yeah I'd be keeping Boeser and moving Jake all things being equal... just not sure Jake nets us a top 4 d all on his own. Good problem to have tho.

I think the additions of Podz and Rathbone are going to be huge. Yuuuuge, even.

I have a real sneaky suspicion that we may have got the draft last year, which I feel was a pretty week draft.  He is doing this in the KHL at 18, imagine what he will be doing for the Canucks at 23.  We absolutely need a player like him in our lineup.

Best adjusted to sneaking, & it's a fine inkling.

yes please.

Gaud gonna need to round out game.

Hog probably gonna step into AHL for a year at least.

Don't think you want 2 young guys on the same line who're just establishing themselves. We're trying that with Gaud/Virtanen now and they have to be sheltered.

Looking like another potential Calder nod if he continues his progress.

If he comes into the league like Boes, Petey and Hughes and makes a immediate impact then we're gonna be real set at forward.

Maybe we got some dark horse candidates next year in Lind or Rathbone or even Hog wouldn’t that be a feat.

Not sure they make an immediate impact like Hughes, Boeser and Petey. I see them more as a Gaud/Virtanen who need a few years which there's nothing wrong with.

Pod was thought out to be a top 5 pick if he wasn't committed to Russia. 10 points in last 15 KHL games(including playoffs) is a pretty great feat for the man-child. He's definitely turning into a top 10 NHL prospect and could take the cake and be #1 next year. Also given the fact that his game is extremely rounded out it serves him well.

Podkolzin is 10th all time in combined regular season and playoff P/GP by u19 in a single season now.

Pretty amazing considering his first point didn't come until January.

Imagine if he was playing 16 minutes a night the entire year:frantic:

He was 2.09 P/60 in his 32 KHL games this year.

So if he played 16 mins a night and scored at the same rate: That would be 18 points in 32 games.

That equates to .56 P/GP
u19 Tarasenko was .57 P/GP

Panarin was .45 P/GP

Woah thanks for putting that into actual perspective.

what would it be if he didn’t have any of those game that he was sub 3 minutes

I believe that next year the KHL is going to be enforcing a soft cap. However, players who are under 21 won't count against that cap.

https://en.khl.ru/news/2019/12/11/461007.html

Not included in the salary cap:

- Individual bonuses worth less than 20% of the player’s salary;

- Team bonuses worth less than 20% of the combined wage bill;

- Prizes for teams finishing in the top four positions after the playoffs;

- Prizes for the top three players in the League;

- Salaries of players on two-way contracts with the Junior Hockey League, or playing for the KHL team while aged 21 or under;

This is good news for young players like Podkolzin who will more than likely see an increase in playing time and responsibilities as teams try to manage their cap. He's already earned the coaches trust now and he should have less obstacles next year. However, since it is a soft cap and SKA is Putin's team, they may just exceed the cap and pay the excess fee since they have the resources to do so.
