It seems with Focht we can't lose. Worst case he turns into an AHLer with the ability to fill in at the NHL level. Best case he turns into a regular NHL'er.

Win/win.

With Hayton likely unavailable I wouldn't be surprised to see both these kids with Team Canada if Focht keeps it up.  .

The Hitmen lost 6-4 but Focht finished the game with a goal and an assist, 13/25 on faceoffs. Named third star for his efforts.

Now has 9pts (4G, 5A) in 5 games, averaging 4 shots per game.  Right now he’s putting up production worthy of a second rounder B).

 Isnt hean over ager?

Yes, same age as KL and JG last year.

If you mean Focht is the same age right now as Lind and Gadj were in their last year in juniors, then yes.  He is not the same age as they were in the 2018-2019 season.  He's a 2000 birthday and those two are 1998s, so they're two years apart.

Focht was passed over once in the draft, so this is essentially his D+2 season.  But he's not an overager -- those are 20 year olds, of which a CHL team can only have three.  Focht is 19 years old.  He's the same age as guys who were drafted in 2018 and playing their last year in the CHL -- such as Ty Dellandrea, Akil Thomas, Serron Noel or our very own Jett Woo.  He's the same age as Cody Glass (1999 birth date) was last year when he was finishing his fourth season in the Dub.

You might want to check the months they were born and consider when the cutoff date for the draft.  He is an overager with Calgary and if he makes WJC team he will also be considered an over-ager there as well.
