I do not make these statements often but will do short an exception here. San Jose Sharks would like to thank Jamie Benn for his services and leadership that propelled us to the Stanley Cup win! You were the heart of our franchise. We wish you all the best with Dallas and will cheer for your new team in upcoming seasons and play-offs. You deserve another shot at cup! There is no turning back now and our team is in full rebuild/retool mode. We hope that next season will serve as a starting point but I do not expect us to be bottom feeders and play-offs might be a possibility. We are building our team around younger core now and are still open to talk players over 26. Also we might have given up too much in the trade (after long, creative and enjoyable negotiations that did not include Jamie at all in the beginning) but it helps us with a cap space going forward and acquiring another 1st and Crouse is something that complements our plan nicely. And yes, getting a legend such as Erik Gudbranson replaces a good looking aspect of our team that would be lacking after Jamie´s departure. Salter
The following teams are currently projected to be over the salary cap on opening night barring trades. The numbers below are calculated after taking players who are expected to be healthy off of IR, and call ups (newly waiver eligible players who are quality NHL players and players who are above AHL talent level and will require an NHL spot). The salaries of players being sent down in replacement have be calculated in the below numbers. Boston Bruins - @Canuck Surfer - $3,605,000 over Carolina Hurricanes - @JE14 - $19,576,667 over Dallas Stars - @Rindiculous - $2,981,437 over Los Angeles Kings - @Frogger - $5,650,400 over New Jersey Devils - @70seven - $8,221,478 over Pittsburgh Penguins - @cunningham19 - $438,979 over Vancouver Canucks - @Watermelons - $2,971,429 over Washington Capitals - @Peaches - $2,912,021 over I’m posting this as a reminder that if your team is over the salary cap by even $1 on opening night, you will have an invalid roster and will not accumulate points during your overage. Happy trading Edited July 29, 2019 by Salter 1

Baer.
Note to all GMs, don't bother giving up even a 5th rounder for any of their players. If they want to be collecting points this year, they better be giving away players! 1

GM pmalina I’d also like to thank @pmalina for the negotiations. We couldn’t resist bringing Jamie Benn home to Dallas, but during these negotiations the Dallas Stars have changed from a 1 to a 2 year plan. We’ve added even more top end talent to our stacked roster that includes Alex Ovechkin, John Tavares, Vladimir Tarasenko, Shea Weber, and now Jamie Benn. We feel like last year was just a blip in the radar and he will get back to his franchise carrying form and wouldn’t it be something to have 3 of the top 10 fantasy players next year which is what the Dallas Stars are hoping. We gave up value, but you have to give up value to get value, and we had to discuss tons and tons of options to get this done. It always seemed we were close in terms of value from the beginning, but we kept on adding and adding and it became this super complicated trade. Anyway, I’m glad to get my second trade and first really major trade done in this league, and I’m ready to see how it plays out.

Happy trading upps the habs wouldnt mind to help those teams but at the moment we are not able to make an moves untill we know where Tobi Rieder lands IRL for an example. further the habs could be forced to move Thomas Greiss and a 1st Round Pick for a Starting Goalie . . greiss was really good last season but now with Varlamov in Long Island he could see less game Action compared to last Season. at the other hand georgiev could make the next step becoming a starting goalie ...this are all questions who will be just answered when the season has started
