I’m retroactively calling up Geekie, btw.

Farabee, Geekie, Lauzon, Anderson, Harkins, and Norris all semi-graduated in the 2nd half of the season. Would be nice to have them full time next year!

Edit: Also Gawdin was in the press box for a few games.

You guys know what boggles my mind? How former Canuck legend Ryan Miller, is John Gibson's backup. Every time I watch Ryan play, he's lights out. Absolutely love him and super proud that he's on the CDCP Nashville Predators!

I think Ryan is making a case for himself... that being said he did in his first year with Anaheim but they still didn't make him the #1 goalie. Terrible management by Anaheim.

Last few months...

Below is the first season stat comparison as well.

Ryan Miller 28 1353 53 2.35 12 6 6 686 0.928 0 4
John Gibson 60 3428 139 2.43 31 18 7 1733 0.926 0 4

The Ducks play harder in front of Miller because they don't want opposition players shooting pucks at an octagenarian.

Hey everyone hope you all are staying healthy and safe during these times.

Soo just a idea and I am spitballing here but as a way to pass time can we maybe open up trades again? I know the deadline has passed ect and again I am just curious but would be cool to open them up again to almost pass time in the league? Does anyone like the idea or object? What do the commissioners think?

Just a idea and if it gets shot down ain’t gonna be the first or last!

cheers boy stay safe and keep your damn players off the ice during these times!

Cheers,

Colorado (aka Big-Country)

Teams are welcome to make trades now, but they wouldn't be processed until both teams are officially eliminated. I appreciate any idea to keep people occupied, but it probably wouldn't be fair to re-open trading that can affect these upcoming playoffs (should they happen) It's possible we could end up with more/less teams making the playoffs, which would be information that wasn't available when previous trades were made.

Speaking of potential playoffs, this 24-team bracket seems to be going around online. Just for fun let's see how the matchups would be for us in this scenario.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/24-team-stanley-cup-playoffs-look-halted-season/

East

1.  small.png  vs  bye

2.  small.png  vs  bye

3.  small.png  vs  bye

4.  small.png  vs  bye

5.  small.png  vs  12.  small.png

6.  small.png  vs  11.  small.png

7small.png  vs  10.  small.png

8.  small.png  vs  9.  small.png

West

1.  small.png  vs  bye

2.  small.png  vs  bye

3.  small.png  vs  bye

4.  small.png  vs  bye

5.  small.png  vs  12.  small.png

6.  small.png  vs  11.  small.png

7.  small.png  vs  10.  small.png

8.  small.png  vs  9.  small.png

That could end up being more fun than a regular playoff bracket if it worked out that way. Here's to hoping we get some sort of post season!

Fantrax has released the Start Active feature. It's the little green icon to the left of the period drop down menu on the team roster page.

Hitting this will automatically put all benched players into active slots. Similar to yahoo for anyone who's used it there.

Just note that player on IR or minors aren't moved when this is used.

I mean, can't really test it out much right now, but this will be a nice bonus when we get going again.

In Aussie Rules they have an interesting system. Head to head with top 4 teams, winner gets a Bye. Its an 8 team play off. Teams 5 thru 8 also play sudden death in round one. Winner playing losers from top 4 in 2knd round.

Here is an adaptation for our application with 8 per conference. 1st round single game. 2knd round best of 3. 3rd round best of 5. Semi Final & Grand Final (Stanley Cup)  best of 7.

1st round single game

1 Carolina versus 4 NYR,    winner gets a bye (lets assume Carolina wins :) )

2 Boston versus 3 Florida,   winner gets a bye (lets assume Boston wins -_- )

5 Detroit versus 8 CBJ,        loser is out  (meh, I tip to win Salter :( )

6 Islanders versus 7 Philly,   loser is out   (Going with a Philly win here :goat:)

2knd Round best of 3

Detroit versus Florida     I'm tipping Florida

NYR   versus Philly         I'm tipping, against good judgement, NYR

3rd round best of 5

Carolins versus NYR      Tipping Master Mind again

Boston versus Florida     Florida stands NO chance! :P

Eastern Final best of 7

Boston versus NYR         Too bad MM traded Malkin, Boston wins in 4, Crosby series MVP

Stanley Cup best of 7

Boston versus @thejazz97 who beat @Watermelons in the West final.

Winner the Silver Surfer 66! :towel:

Interesting style. I think it might be broken though, Boston beating the Rangers? Can't imagine that happening under any playoff format  ;)
