Definitely sucks giving up Duchene, but points wise between him and Bishop, I come out ahead and have solidified a key position at a good cap hit for another 3 seasons.  Plus I have another trade in the works that would bring in a strong replacement, and Nolan Patrick will be returning at some point.

Many thanks to Snowflake for being one of a kind. We had a very easy and transparent negotiation process. We quickly agreed to fair valuation process based mostly on contract lengths and actual pool points. We both have long term signed players that suit our needs. I believe they call this a hockey trade, as ever deal should be.

Bishop has been in need of a move for over a year and a half, and we’ve actively worked towards making that happen. He is a multiple Vezina nominated starter, and to cast him as anything less is unacceptable. Many thanks to Ben, for working with us through active communication,

to rectifying this situation at loss to neither organization or player.

Ive been committed to Marincin since the beginning. He has the size, and seems to be just a little late on the career curve. I see him as being a stable competent d man in coming years. Good positional piece, and will serve Montreal well.

Aaron Dell is someone we’re excited to have. We helped select him when I was serving as consigliere to the Jets during C2X’s sabbatical. Liked him then, watched as he had a down year, but we’re excited to bring him on as he improves his style and consistency.

We’ve lacked in top six scoring for years, which has forced us to the middle of the pack. We are proud to have addressed the situation, and are stronger up front than ever.

Too strong? When Tarasenko returns there is the real issue of having too much talent up top... look for Boston to make more youth and playoff based moves towards the deadline.

Fully Healthy:

Schwartz - Draisaitl - Tarasenko

Dvorak - Duchene - Reinhart

Niederreiter - Stepan - Bjorkstrand

Reider - Aston Reese - Yamamoto

Archibald

Lindholm - Ristolainen

Hjalmarrson - Shattenkirk

Weegar - Oesterle

Beaulieu - Jones

Binnington

Dell

Ecstatic to bring in my favourite player Brendan Gallagher, and add quite a bit of future assets as well! Adding a strong center to replace the departed Duchene is a big plus as well.  Tough to move a player like Horvat but couldn’t pass up the chance to get Gally!

Super pumped right now!
