SIGNING: The New York Rangers have signed defenseman Cody Goloubef to a one year deal.

nyr.png Cody Goloubef: 1 year, $ 700 thousand dollar contract ( $ 700,000.00 per season ).

We are happy to reach a deal with Cody. He has been in the organizational depth for a while now, and well, money talks. We still like him or he wouldn't still be in our system. Looking forward to the next 3 weeks of camp, more or less, and figuring out who will slot in where. Cody Goloubef may make a late push to crack the big team and I wouldn't mind that one bit.

SIGNING: The New Jersey Devils have signed Saku Maenalanen to a one year deal.

Such a shame he signed in Finland, he's got the tools to be a good bottom six forward.

LATEST NEWS

JUN 25, 2:56 PM EDT

Maenalanen received a qualifying offer from the Hurricanes on Tuesday, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.

ANALYSIS

No surprise here, as the Hurricanes are flush with cap space and opted to qualify all of their RFAs. Maenalanen should return to a bottom-six role, similar to the one in which he totaled eight points over 34 appearances as a rookie last season.

Image result for blue jackets

Columbus Blue Jackets Camp just wrapped up.  It was a productive training camp where we saw some of the teams new players develop some chemistry together on the ice. The team's believed top line of Gourde, Dubois, and Lindholm showed some real promise out there. Krejci was also seen with Andrew Shaw and new addition Brandon Saad. The team's D core looked younger and faster with the off-season addition of Travis Sanheim who looked phenomenal alongside Brett Pesce in this weekends scrimmages. DiPietro looked solid in his playtime, he stopped all the shots in today's scrimmage including during the teams Overtime and Shootout.

The team's bottom line of Hartman, Fischer, and Motte played with a lot of intensity. Overall training camp looked very productive - Some of the teams youth shined in some of the teams drills as well. Dillon Dube shined in the battle drills and Kirill Kaprizov looked phenomenal in the stickhandling drills. Blackwood played admirably in the teams scrimmage in Day 1. Lehner looked equal to the part this Sunday in the teams final scrimmage.

Scrimmage lines from today:

              Team Red                                                        Team Blue

Gourde - Dubois - Lindholm                                 Saad - Krejci - Shaw

Hartman - Fischer - Motte                                 Virtanen - Zacha - Carter

Lindberg - Dube - Puljujarvi                           Kaprizov - MacEwen - Dahlen

Murray - DeMelo                                            Sanheim - Pesce

Juolevi - Braun                                                Zadorov - Peeke

     Rafferty - Wotherspoon                                             Tryamkin

             Lehner                                                             Blackwood

            DiPietro

We look forward to setting the teams lines once we have played a few pre-season games!

Re-acquisition Farabee getting looks on Flyers top line with Giroux and Couturier... ::D

Quote

Just how seamlessly is the young winger clicking with the team's big boys?

"Today, for me, obviously this is just practice," Flyers head coach Alain Vigneault said, "but he showed that he belonged there.

"He was making some plays, he was working hard at both ends of the ice, it was fun to see. If you're him, playing with two pretty good players, it's a great opportunity and we'll see what happens moving forward."

The natural chemistry between Giroux, Couturier and Farabee has been eye-catching through two days of camp. The 2018 first-round pick knows how to find open gaps, play off their abilities — and he just works, works and works.
