Popular Post canuck2xtreme
QUICK HITS! - Sources indicate that Nikita Gusev is close to a multi year deal with an Eastern Conference team. Barring any last minute changes, expect him to put pen to paper sometime today. - Highly sought after prospect Taro Hirose is said to have drawn interest from nearly a third of the league. We're being told a deal is not close, as he will begin the process of responding to teams this morning after discussions with his agent. It's more likely he will be paring down his list before making a final decision. - Spoke to one GM who believes that Brandon Pirri will be joining a Western Conference team, though he wouldn't say which one. Not sure how accurate that is, but it appears he may get a better shot on the roster this season and he's produced well when he's been given the chance. He is definitely in the mix for potentially the best bang for your buck signing this summer. - On the trade front, a lot of chatter coming out of the West, specifically involving defencemen. I'm told that the Jets were approached about moving Tyson Barrie, but the club wasn't listening. Would they for the right offer? And multiple GMs have confirmed that the St. Louis Blues have been approached at least twice by multiple teams about Calder Trophy winner Elias Pettersson, but the Blues wouldn't budge. Teams are definitely calling though. - Also been told that Columbus has been shopping Ryan Murray (or anyone else with a pulse...), and there's been unconfirmed reports that the Flyers may look to make a move with their goaltending. - Speaking of goaltending, the Arizona Coyotes have a starting goaltender. You heard that right, the Arizona Coyotes, have a legitimate starting goaltender. RIP Western Conference. 1 6

We had Marleau projected as our 13th forward and I didn't want to enter the season that way if I had the chance to find him a better playing situation. The vet will get plenty of playing time in his contract year with a reigning playoff team. We wish him the best moving forward

Tony Romo
Reports out of Carolina are suggesting that for the first time in a decade this franchise is looking to trade some picks and prospects. They are in the market for a 1st line winger, so the prospects available could be some big names.
