Yep. If we’re battling for a wild card spot we still gotta unload Tanev.

Edler Stecher

Hughes Myers

Juolevi Benn

That is at least a passable D. Probably not going to win us a playoff round, but that shouldn’t be the expectation next year

I wonder if JB isn't as convinced that Try is coming back next year.........if he does, someone has to be moved out, likely Stetch

Here. In case no one else wants to look for Benn signing details having to look thru all the Tanev trade posts..

the Benn and Myers signings have direct implications on Tanev........kind of makes sense to include that in the discussion on the deal.

And we'd be possibly adding Tryamkin to that mix once his season is over as well.

No implications what so ever If Tanev will get traded. Benn is 3rs pair depth guy. Myers doesn't replace Tanev. This team needed another top 4 Dman.

Go start a thread. It's UFA day. Stay on topic or start a thread regarding what ever else you want.

Regular day different. I don't wanna go thru 2 pages of what Tanev trade value is worth when come to find Benn signing details.

someone piss in your Canada Day cornflakes this morning?

Here's a stat comparison for Ben Hutton vs. Jordie Benn over the past 4 years.

Ben Hutton
Games - 276
Goals - 11
Assists - 59
Points - 70
plus/minus -75
Hits - 183
Blocks - 376
PPP - 28
SHP - 2
even strength pts - 40
shots - 451
ATOI - 20:20

Jordie Benn
Games - 293
Goals - 16
Assists - 50
Points - 66
plus/minus +11
Hits - 368
Blocks - 519
PPP - 3
SHP - 2
even strength pts - 61
shots - 325
ATOI - 17:52

thanks for breaking that down -- it shows that if hutton could play in the top 4, so can benn (if necessary).

edler-myers

hughes-tanev

benn-stecher

bottom two pairings would have fairly evenly distributed ice, with hughes having less even strength with lots of pp, and the other 3 having similar even strength and lots of pk.

then tryamkin comes in late in the season and tanman gets flipped at the deadline after holding quinn's hand for the first bit to make sure he's steady.

That is a much stronger dcorps than last year. Not world beating but add in Try, OJ and Woo / Rathbone in 1-2 years and it will be a very strong group.

If Tanev can be the stay at home guy w Hughes, he will get injured a lot less (we will be controlling the puck so he won’t be blocking shots), and he’ll up his value. He’s always done well at the worlds with guys like that. Could be a very nice pair. But then JB won’t want to move him lol.

Thanks, wanted exactly this.

This forums setup is terrible.

Bury the rumors, new threads for confirmed signings. Instead we get to sift through pages of people arguing about whether or not the signing will happen to find the relevant information and input on a new deal. Such a backwards, messy way to "organize" the most active NHL forum.
