What is your 2019-2020 projected lineup for the Canucks?

If we trade Sutter, Miller might slip into the 3C role. I'm hoping JB can somehow keep Sutter and move Eriksson though...

Miller - Pettersson - Boeser

Baertschi - Horvat - Pearson

Roussel - Sutter - Ferland

Goldobin - Gaudette - Virtanen

Motte

Leivo

For depth it's good to have guys like Ferland, Roussel, Miller and Pearson who can play anywhere in that lineup. Guys like Motte and Leivo can step in for injuries nicely and likely replace Goldobin/Virt when they're inconsistent.

Baer for a 5th. I'd rather keep him and play him 30 games a season then give him up for that return.

I’d consider this as well if it wasn’t for the fact that we are going to be facing some significant cap challenges over the next two years (atleast how I perceive the situation).

I also don’t think it will be possible to move Eriksson’s contract this season.

Ferland and Miller come into camp with higher expectations for JV. They chirp at him all season till he takes the next step and we enter the playoffs with him playing more determined.

As a result, we face Calgary in the first round. Green decides to send a message. He places Miller, petty and BB on a line but starts the game with Ferland, Bo and JV.

With the new rule change about a goalie freezing the puck, Green tells the D to throw the puck into the zone for Ferland and JV to chase.

Neither the saddledome or Calgary's d can finish the game.

TSN, Sportsnet, Hrudy and Canucks media wail as the Canucks go to the second round.

I think we can all agree we have never had a Canucks team that had so many different amazing possible combinations. Green and company are sure to have a lot of fun setting the lines! Great summer, for sure.

Just off the top of my head:

Ferland-Petey-Brock

Baer-Bo-Pearson

Leivo-Miller-Jake

Roussel-Sutter-Beagle

Three scoring lines. Weight throughout. A very defensive fourth line for checking, penalty kill and taking the match responsibilities off Bo, giving him more attention to driving offense.

That leaves off: Gaud in Utica. Then Goldy, Motte, MacEwan, Loui, Schaller

You predicted Ferland, and I think predicted Eriksson's last days here too.

I think your idea about Sutter and Baertschi is a good one, but they won't yield much in a trade because of their last year's injury problems.

On the other hand, signing Ferland meant we had to think about cap space, so your idea becomes all the more useful.  I suspect we keep both of them and pray they have injury-free years, making them trade worthy by TDL.  I will say, though: if Gaudette and Virtanen have break out years, then Sutter and Eriksson won't see much ice time in any case.  Unused = uninjured maybe.  Trading Eriksson is probably impossible -- and there is no way this team will accept retaining salary for that slug -- so AHL and hope he asks to get out of his contract.
