Lions offensive lineman Dean Valli stretches during practice on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at the Canadian Football League team’s training facility in Surrey. - Ward Perrin METRO VANCOUVER — In case you forget, Dean Valli has a good body with good girth. “He’s a good-looking guy, which is what you want.” That is how offensive line coach Dan Dorazio famously described Valli’s physique after the B.C. Lions drafted him from Simon Fraser University seven years ago. Dorazio’s honest assessment of the guard also sounded like a passage from a romance novel, and both assistant coach and player have had to live with the accidental humour since then I got you 1 1 4

Rick Blight
Graovac and Bailey combined with MacEwen and Gadjovich gives Utica some much needed big bodies. I like this signing. 1

tas
I like that the canucks have made an effort to get upstate new york guys for utica. it's good for the young players who don't know the region, potentially provides stability for the organization if the players are happy to stick around, and is good for the fans there and the environment in the building.
justathought
Great signing. Allows us to call up some big bodies when things get rough in our playoff run!

Popular Post TheCerebral1
As a Sabres watcher, he's a big kid who can skate, and hit. He's got all the tools, but not the toolbox. He'll never be much more than an energy player, but he's a great kid and goes on scoring stretches. Perfect Utica addition. 1 2

And if nothing else will make Utica a lot better. Has half decent AHL numbers, and according to Eliteprospects, his father was an NFL player. Wouldn't it be nice if he were a late blooming power forward. Anybody know if he's got good skating? Scouting report I read wasn't very clear on it. Overall, hard to see anything negative about taking a flyer on him, if not for us, then for Utica.

I'm assuming that's where Bailey would ideally end up. He'll need to clear waivers to be assigned which isn't really a loss for the Canucks if that happens but is curious. Adding Bailey should be good for overall depth but perhaps the Canucks are looking at shipping out a younger player or a prospect. Perhaps the Canucks are looking at including Leivo in a trade? Virtanen is a possibility too but I don't think this management group is ready to give up on him yet. Bailey would not count as a vet. He's played 276 Pro games over his career, which qualifies him as the one developmental players with less than 320 GP (The other 12+ must have 260 or less GP). The only "AHL" vets we have signed are Graovac and Boucher, possibly Schaller if he's buried. Hope that helps. 5 1
