COMETS ANNOUNCE ROSTER MOVES

Oct 29, 2019

Utica, N.Y. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Ashton Sautner from the Comets and defenseman Oscar Fantenberg has been loaned to the Comets on a conditioning stint. Additionally, defenseman Mitch Eliot has been assigned to the Comets.

Sautner, 25, has suited up for four games with the Comets this season, tallying one assist. He has appeared in 22 career NHL games and recorded three assists.

Fantenberg has yet to play for the Canucks this season. He was originally signed by the Canucks on July 1. The 27-year-old split the 2018-19 season between the Kings (2-1-3 in 46 games) and Flames (0-1-1 in 15 games). In two NHL seasons, the 6-0, 206-pound defenseman has recorded 13 points (4-9-13) in 88 games. He also has one assist in seven Stanley Cup playoff games.

Scoreless 1st period.  For some reason, Cull has chosen to split up Baer, Jasek and Goldy.

Nik is now with Boucher, centered by  Camper, while Baer is with  Lind, centered by Perron, while Jasek centers a third line.

Why mess with success? Only reason I can think of is that MacEwen is out with an unspecified illness, so some juggling was needed, but maybe the zero goals will give Cull pause to think what he's doing

Fantenberg having a strong game, and Goldy wearing the "A" !!
