He was in and out of a game last week trying to play through it and has been out of the line up for a couple games now. It is supposed to be a mild strain so hopefully he will be back soon. There are no wildcards so the top 4 teams in the North Division and the top 4 teams in the Atlantic Division qualify for the playoffs. That’s too bad but plenty of games for those Marlies to lose and both farm and parent clubs miss the playoffs. Which will shut the Toronto media up until Mr. Matthews has another full moon evening. Still a lot of season to be played and standings tend to chance much more in the AHL than the NHL because injuries are 2X the issue in the A. Injuries on both the NHL and AHL roster impact the AHL team. Then the trade deadline is another huge variable. Do NHL trades strip away players from the AHL team and will any AHL players on the NHL roster on TDL day be papered back down to the AHL?
