Plus, this is a pretty great hockey market.

One thing about these signings is that it seems like they all really want to be here. Either they wanted to be here from the start, or they were absolutely sold on the team and the city by management, which in turn helped keep the prices lower than they could have otherwise been.

There was a quote earlier in the thread from Ferland who said that both himself and Tyler Myers were impressed with Travis Green and that he made the difference compared to other teams....

Ferland - Roussel - Virtanen

      Benn - Myers

The munchkins won't stand a chance.

With Woo and hopefully Tryamkin soon too.

So what’s gonna happen to Baertschi?

Up until the acquisition of Ferland, I thought Baer would at least stick around to the trade deadline. Not so sure about that anymore as there are a lot of extra bodies and the top six is going to be interesting going forward. I can see Baer, Goldy and Sutter all being moved as well as Eriksson if he is packaged with some of them, for draft picks and / or prospects.

Our forward group is just sick, I would put a bet on us having the most 15 goal scorers in the NHL next season

Boeser

Horvat

Pettersson

Miller

Pearson

Ferland

Virtanen are likely

Hughes

Baertschi

Leivo are possible

And maybe some others. Lol.

Gonna be fun to watch!

You’re supposed to move away from PG, not to it haha.

I don't see a spot for him in the lineup now, and he's not the only one.

At least Dorsetts doctor was wise enough to tell him when it was time to close shop. Baer is one hit away from possibly being very seriously injured long term (or worse) with that concussion history. We're talking about a guy who had concussion symptoms return simply by being at altitude (in Colorado, not even playing) :o

Eriksson is a sure bet 15G scorer.

So is Sidney Crosby, or any other NHL player. The panic over Baertschi is pathetically annoying honestly.

Boeser     6'1" 210 lbs
Horvat      6'0" 215 lbs
Pearson   6'1" 201 lbs
Miller        6'1" 218 lbs
Ferland    6'1" 217 lbs

We now have 5 guys at or towards the top of our lineup that are gonna be really hard to knock off the puck.

The culture of the canucks changed a lot in the last year. You could even tell with the media during games. As soon as Pettersson showed up the hate seemed to disappear. It’s hard to exactly say but I’d imagine having him on the team is playing a major role in people wanting to play here.

I know I'm in the huge minority, but imagine if Guddy were still here, with the additions of Myers and Benn?  Now that would be a tough team.  Tkchunk wouldn't even show up to the rink when van came to town

Sooner than later we might see

Tryamkin, Myers, Benn, Hughes, Woo, Juolevi, Stecher

and that's not even touching the solid depth guys Benning also signed in Teves and Rafferty

It’s not panic. It’s historically factual to say; Bärtschi will miss games due to injury.

Man o man. What an amazing off season for the Canucks so far!!!

Good job JB!!

I haven't read the thread yet but personally I don't care about the cap. Why should I? I am a fan. JB's job is to make it work. So far he has been excellent this off season and two months to go still.

Excited for next season!!    Ferland is exactly who I wanted after we got JT, Myers, and Benn.  Imagine a Canucks team with 6 actual top 6 forwards!!!  We can say we have that!!

Credit where credit is due - JB with a steal of a contract here.

Impressive. Ferland is a versatile top 6 forward who can be bumped anywhere from the 1st to 3rd line and still be effective.

...classic case of another JB mystery box move except this time he gets the better end of a signing.

And Rathbone, who we all forget.
