Hes getting monetary reward for his efforts, and in 2 short years if he can show he can keep up that level, Im sure he'll get a 5-7 year deal worth 6+. Low risk/high reward deal which is a smart way to play it. If he comes back down to earth it'll look fine and he plays lights out it's a steal.
