Popular Post J.I.A.H.N
Albeit, Brock Boeser is has not signed, but after the fury of the Draft and Free Agency, I find the last weeks of July and August to be so boring on the hockey front and really have a hard time getting exited over the sparse moves, issues and topics...……. it pretty much happens every year My only issue at this time, is the manipulation of the cap ceiling, and how teams are using LTIR to circumvent the cap...…..that is about it. I watch with mild interest as teams try to sign their RFA's and still stay within the cap, but again, they will do it, and life will go on...….. Maybe it is me, as late June and early July were a lot of fun, and now with few moves to make, Benning is taking a small break...…….. Anyone else struggling with how quiet it is? Other than a life, am I missing something? 5 2
goalie13
No struggle here. Although I do check in to CDC from time to time (especially when I should be working) but this time of year I tend to spend my free time outside. Golfing, swimming, camping, hiking. All better things to do than worry about what JB might do next.
Nucker 67
Anticipating the season to start, can't wait - having a much better team on paper this year helps with the excitement. I get a little bummed out some mornings during summer when I get the paper and there is zero Canucks news. Strangely, there always seems to be Leafs news in our Vanouver paper. I hate to wish away the summer, so I won't. But I'm very excited to see Canucks hockey again.

dpn1
I have no problem wishing the summer would end. I have Multiple Sclerosis and the heat plays havoc with the symptoms. I do miss hockey in the summer but I have the "72 Series" on DVD and a few Canada cups as well. I use these to deal with the withdrawals over the summer month. Putgolzin
Someone posted on Twitter today that your life depends on: A - the best NHL player who shares your birthdate scoring a shootout goal against B - the Stanley Cup winning goaltender from the year you graduated high school I've got Mats Naslund (nor Markus!) going up against Tom Barrasso. I think I'll live to see another couple dog days of summer.
Tre Mac
Pisses me off how teams sign players(Clarkson) to contracts worse than Luongo's, can put players on LTIR and then trade/re-acquire them. Gar-Bear was so pissed off at Gillis and Gillman for finding loopholes to exploit and now Gillman is doing the same for the Leafs but I guess those moves are A-Ok. 1

And how convenient that Toronto news outlets turn a blind eye to it or fully support it. If it was Vancouver, we’d see stories about how unethical and unfair that kind of move is, signing a guy who won’t even play to circumvent the cap.

Boeserker
I go to Off Topic and pick fights with every willing combatant. Helps pass the summer and keep me in fighting shape for when the real season starts Edit: Jason Woolley on Ken Dryden. Hopefully my life is in Dyden's hands, not Wooleys Edited July 25, 2019 by Boeserker 1

morgo
The last time I was this excited for a season to start was in the summer of 2010. Maybe we aren't contenders yet but our future is brighter than it's been in some time.

MattJVD
I kinda enjoy not having hockey to watch in the summer. I become a slave to the Canucks schedule during the season (don't get me started on playoffs). I won't make plans anywhere without a TV at game time. I love watching the games, but it's nice to change it up and have one less need during the summer. I'm a little more care-free.

Mathew Barzal
Yep. Having so many unknowns going into this season is a bit unnerving. It was a big sink or swim off season by Benning, now we just have to wait to see how it pans out.
