We humans are willfully causing damage to our environment that is contributing to anthropogenic climate change. Yet when debate about climate change comes up, we humans and our activities are not the problem. Yet, the science, like a recent article in Nature, says otherwise. This source summarizes the Nature article (behind a paywall). Article

But apparently there hasn't been too much of a difference in the amount of fires in the Amazon since 2013. This year might actually be less than previous years. Some are questioning the timing of this current fad outrage. Might just happen to be who is in charge of Brazil rather than any material difference. People are still right to complain... but considering this has been an ongoing issue for years now... many of those outraged are a bit late to the party. For the Brazil Amazon we want them to save their trees so they can’t be harvested. We in the developed world, again, expect the developing countries (who are trying to create living standards closer to ours) to stop doing now what we already did. Personally, I say screw ‘em. Make it damn near impossible fir any developing countries to get to our level.
