Seems odd for sure... if so, they must be concerned about Baer’s long term health. He’s looked good during the pre season.

BPA
Thought Baer was OK. Guess not enough. Probably JB hoping someone picks him and his $3.37M cap hit off our hands.

Popular Post ruilin96
I would be really bummed if Baertchi gets put on waivers for many reasons. The obvious is that he is definitely had a decent preseason and to me, outplayed enough forwards for a job. Another reason is that I feel absolutely terrible for him as he came into the organization at the worst of times, suffered some serious injuries and played well when he is in the line up. I really hope he doesn’t get put on waivers.

Vanisleryan
I can see some guys here are pretty bummed if Sven goes on waivers. I like the guy too but our team is improving and some tough decisions are being made. In the end it’s a business and these players are compensated quite well. Baertchi has outplayed Eriksson imo he should not be the casualty of the numbers game.

Popular Post J-23
Baer outplayed Pearson, Leivo, Goldobin, Schaller, Virtanen, Eriksson, Beagle, maybe everyone competing for bottom 6 besides Gaudette
KoreanHockeyFan
I'm wondering if the decision to put Baer on waivers was so that they could get under the cap? Under the premise that Gaudette deserved a spot, someone had to get cut, and Baer's salary was a big enough cut to get the roster under the cap? hlinkas wrister
Sven doesn't deserve that (if true) but I think his salary would preclude anybody but a cap floor team from claiming him so maybe there is a method to the madness.

Popular Post J-23
Might as well send down Gaudette tbh, if the solution is to do some stupid $&!# like this. 1 1

Wayne Jetski
Just when this team is trending in the right direction. Seriously hard to cheer for decisions like this. 1
