Warhippy
So...how'd the unheralded guys do? Focht? the PTOs, the call ups? Does it look like a good crop possibly heading to Utica? How are our prospects looking?

I think Utica is going to have a fast skilled team this year. Defense looks solid too.

Does it look like a good crop possibly heading to Utica? How are our prospects looking? Utica should be pretty good just based on our depth. Comments below are from others posts here. Gaudette will be sent down until we move someone like Sutter or there’s an injury, which will be best for his game as he’ll likely be our 1C down there. Hopefully that helps a player like Lind as well. Some said Lind looked quick and was working hard. Juolevi same as Gaudette. Apparently he looks solid just needs some time (Obvious reasons), but positive to hear that he’s looking like the quality we hoped. A few said Mckewan, Chatfield looked good as well. Gadj apparently looked a step behind and it seems unless he deals with this skating (maybe drop some weight) he’s going to be in tough to make this level. Those with natural gifts often rest on them and never learn to compete harder because they haven’t had to growing up, they were just that much better physically. It’s also a reason why their game sense often doesn’t develop as well. Counter to that, athletes that aren’t as physically gifted learn that training, out competing, and drive can level the playing field (aka Beiga, Stecher, etc) and they also develop their game sense more because in order to compete, they often have to out think their opponents (because they are not going to compete based on their physical ability, whether that’s size, speed, or strength, or combination.) The truly great players have not only the physical ability but the drive to get better and develop their game sense as well. Ie Crosby, McKinnon, Petey, even Bo. Jake is not at the level of Petey and Bo but if he had their drive, there’s no doubt in my mind he could be as effective as a player like Jake Debrusk for instance. I just hope he decides he wants it enough before his rope is gone here. Edited September 15, 2019 by Freddy40

Focht? the PTOs, the call ups? Does it look like a good crop possibly heading to Utica? How are our prospects looking? Went there today and was impressed with some of the young players and our overall depth: -Lind and Woo were two young guys with jump. I think Lind has a bounce back year -Fantenberg is a guy that looks like someone stole his candy bar. I think Markstrom mentioned something about shooting high and he just kept yapping back with that it hit his stick with a get the hell out of here stare. Definitely has an edge. -Eriksson had a breakaway chance and hit the brakes. Checked out and needs to go. Can’t believe his effort level out there. Even Beagle laid the body on him because he was likely tired of the effort. -Virtanen unless playing 20 mins a night will be fine with his fitness. Still fast and his shot is still hard. Blown out of proportion. -Keppen was huge and was really trying hard out there. -Justin Bailey is huge and super fast. Would have thought he was a top prospect. Could be a key call up. -Goldobin was battling hard with Miller in one of the drills. He’s not afraid to go to the dirty areas. He put a playful cross check to Petey and Ferland stepped in but it was all in fun. -Petey out of this world. -Hughes out of this world. I don’t think you can compare Jake to either of those players give their elite status From very early in their careers. And to to be honest, I still think those guys are an embarrassment. You’re a pro athlete, be in the best shape you can be in, and you’ll be the best you can be. Buff and Kessel make millions of dollars per year and are top athletes in the best hockey league in the world. You make weird comments on line. And THEY are the embarrassment. hahahh ok pal Edit: I come to this site to get good info on Canucks players and prospects and talk hockey. Not to hear basement dwellers like you crap on them when they are infinitely better at life. So I will do us both a favor and block your meaningless posts (looks like you have only been here a week anyway...maybe were banned and have a new account now?). Cya champ... The Sedins were talented but always pushed themselves, played hard, kept in shape and made time for the fans. They were, and still are, true class open you eyes Jake before it’s too late Edited September 16, 2019 by canuck2288 1
Popular Post Rick_theRyper
Well one thing I noticed from the videos was Sutter he made the goal and the assist look so effortless.
