It is kind of interesting that Gaudette and Goldobin aren't playing -- two players that are fighting for a permanent spot. Green did have some high praise for Gaudette after last game, so he may be rewarding him with some time off after playing every other preseason game.

And equally curious that he's not giving Goldobin the opportunity tonight to see if he can match that effort.

Makes the cap hits a wash this season but saves us $4m the next two years (or more if he simply retires at any point). Yes please.

That would be awful for development. Team would have way less practice time due to increased travel that comes with playing on the west coast. How often does the scenario of needing to rush a player from the farm team on game day actually occur? not often at all. And it's a 50/50 chance that if that scenario does arise that they would be on the road anyway. 

It is far far far far far far far better to have your affiliate on the east coast.
