I still feel like it's a premature celebration.

It definitely is.   I don’t see the logic at all in “celebrating” something that has yet to take place.   It makes us look like a bunch of Corky Thacher’s from Life Goes On.

Lets make the playoffs, and then celebrate if we achieve our target.

Huh?  It's not about making the playoffs.  It's about commemorating an anniversary in the correct year.

The Canucks first season was 1970-71.  50 years later would be 2020-21.  And you can't argue that it's their 50th season because we lost a season due to a lock out.  So either way, it's a year early.  Heck, they celebrated 40 years only 9 years ago.  It just doesn't add up.  And Buffalo is doing the same thing.  I wonder whose idea it was?  The Canucks, the Sabres or the NHL?

Count from 70 to 19 and tell me what number you get  :)

Your second point is a different argument.

Reviewing the 50 year history of the Canucks would likely mean that this season will also be a season without a Stanley Cup...

I’m sure there will be 11 themed nights with some of them celebrating the 1970s, then 1980s, then 1990s, then 2000s and then closing up with 2010s!!!

It’s no one’s fault if Vancouver doesn’t win their 1st Cup this year even though they will be showing highlights at Rogers Arena (a celebration) from their last 49 years.

These awards don't mean anything. The real award is the Stanley Cup.

#intolerablesnob

Saying Happy Anniversary to your favourite sports team is a real award!

If your team reaches the playoffs, it is a real and Better award!!

If your team reaches Stanley Cup Final, it is a real and Great Award!!!

If your team wins the Stanley Cup, it is a real and the BEST AWARD!!!!

It is after all - just my opinion. Thank you!

I didn't mean to come across as serious. I was mocking those people who are pretentious snobs.

Oh, okay. I understand you! Cheers.

When the Playoffs come, I will be sending a different message with my fun Canucks Art!

With the new additions we got, I believe that Canucks won’t let us down by missing playoffs for 5 or their 6th straight season come April 2020!

I look forward to seeing how Canucks will begin Game 1 of regular season tomorrow night!!!
