What JB says?

JB has a tenancy to revise what he has stated to fit some new narrative annually.

Just a quick example;

“this is a team we can turn around in a hurry.” becomes “We’ve never once said this was going to be easy or fast.”

Roussel is probably held off the ice and roster right now because of the cap, if he comes back then they lose the LTIR unless they put some other player on it, other teams do this constantly but it is essentially cheating the intent of the CBA, using a legal loophole.

If they do that they would be at risk of losing draft picks.  This August Roussel gave an interview to the Journal de Montreal where he says he'll be out until close to Christmas time.

Ya, OJ out again. The team held on too long with him now, his trade value is gone, they might as well just keep him and hope that some time in the next few years he can be dealt for 5th or 6th rounder to a desperate team. He should be taken out of the prospect/hope category.

And now they will count his injury in the "man games lost" for the Canucks so they can pad the numbers even though he hadn't played a minute, last season they added Dorset's games lost and OJ's as well to make the excuse sound more plausible rather than just admitting that the development system isn't developing enough players especially top six, top 4 D or even bottom six..

he has no real value due to injuries. Let's be patient with him and hope he can get close to a full year of play in utica this season

Ikr.. it happens and hopefully he can stay healthy for quite awhile, people are quick to forget he has a petey-like wrist/snap shot that we reallyyyyyyy need! No thanks on the trade bit.. why trade a potential first/second line Dman for nothing anyway?

petey-like wrist/snap shot ?  I think you are thinking of some other dman.

From ALL of junior, Europe and AHL he has a total of 27 goals from all games played.

Gudbranson type numbers

he’s ? years old. Give it a chance :)

18 games played last year, 38 games the year before and 14 games played this year so far,

would you trade a 1rst round pick for him?

sometimes the worst things can happen to nice kids.

IF he had been drafted in the second round you would not care about him as the player. It is more the expectations of the drafted position.

He could make a come back but the team has needs now, should they hold a spot open for him?

They don’t need to hold a spot open for him.  Many good D men don’t hit their peak until mid 20’s.  Don’t know why so many want to give up on Ollie. He has the size and skills to become a very good D man.  Be patient.
