Am drooling at the thought of adding Tryamkin to this bunch. Just more size that can skate well. It’s nice to see how much bigger, faster and tough to play against the team has gotten in the past year.

I wonder if he's in good enough shape? I wonder if the speed and intensity we're seeing now would be something he could step into or not. If he could tho yikes, having him and Myers would be downright scary.

This is the 2nd time in the last 2 games where you see the team take the lead, and let their foot off of the gas.  We aren't built to just turn it on, or to stifle successfully for a long period of time.  We are a team that will win only as long as we are working, for a full 60 mins.  But if we can find a way to do that, to just continually pour it on, I think we shall see a lot of success thru the season.

As for our D-corps play last night, it is starting to look like the sum of all those parts, might just be something to be in favour of.  Especially with Tanev playing regular minutes beside Hughes and actually putting up points.

This team is going to be a lot of fun to watch, win or lose, this season, if they play like they can.  I hope I'm not the only one really excited for this season!

Yes, getting rid of Pooalot and Gudbranson made a big difference on the back end.

Throw in Hutton's name too who bounced back last year, but what an upgrade we have over last season right down into Utica.

Can you see having the twin towers out during the PK? That wingspan tho...

In March, hoping for:

Edler - Myers

Hughes - Tryamkin

Benn - Tanev (nice PK tandem?)

depth: Stecher, Brisebois, Fantenberg, Rafferty, Sautner, etc...

The enthusiasm surrounding our roster upgrades was not unfounded in the least.

We have a very solid line-up. Are we CUP contenders yet? Maybe not, or possibly we are.. but one thing I am certain on, is that we will be finding our way back to the playoffs.

This season's playoffs!

That’s a nice looking group. Personally I would leave the Hughes/Tanev tandem together as they’ve played very well together and the Tanman can mentor him.

Perhaps Myers would be the best mentor for Tryamkin even tho not a duo.

A homer can dream...

Are you @apollo’s cousin? ::D

Of course we’re going to the show and if we draw a small team in the first round I’d like our chances.

Really like the additions of Benn and Myers. Hughes is on a different level. Love that he's gelling with Tanev and he's producing. Possibly adding Tryamkin and Juolevi to this group would be great with the D injuries that could happen down the stretch. Depth is good. They can handle themselves this year too. Big and nasty, shots from the point getting through. Thinking back a year with Gudbranson, Pouliot and Hutton, the Canucks D is way better now. A little concerned with the amount of shot they're giving up though. Thankfully, Markstrom's been great.

I remember a few months ago - when countless folks had Hutton and Schenn pencilled into the top 4.

Looks like Benning might get the last laugh on the armchairs.

We added Hughes, Myers, and Benn on D.  We added Miller, Ferland, and (pretty much) Pearson at forward.  We are a much much better team.

This D imo is a huge upgrade from the last 5 seasons.

this team however is still jelling and only in 2nd gear, and doing warmup laps, right now Marky is winning us games..BUT....once it’s up to full speed Canucks will be very hard too play against , and the PP will be something to behold.

Add the guys wearing the proper gloves, and the cup is ours.

Very nice not to have Pouliot and Gudbranson out there anymore and having something that looks more like an NHL calibre defense.
