And that is only the offensive half of his game... his D game is just as good. Phenomenal anticipation of where the puck will be... quick on it and then a quick move or pass and the zone is cleared. It is usually Chris Tanev who has to cover for his D partner... but Hughes is actually covering for Chris... and that means Tanev is not required to sacrifice himself near as much trying to save the situation... this year I have not yet seen Tanev get hit bad by a forechecker once... which I saw regularly last year. I'm really sold on this kid... I thought he was better than his brother, but I didn't realize just how much better. It’s like they know their on too a big season. Also look at the Canucks who aren’t playing..plus Utica Baer, KHL Soon to be NHLer again Tryamkin. This team has Depth. I feel Canucks are in a good state now. Cant wait til next game......also the new Goal song I’m starting to also like a lot.....hearing it 5+ times a game is fine by me. I guess the first thing that makes me laugh is how, me and many others were so happy to, either not re-sign Edler or to trade him away...…… LOL, the old guy is doing pretty good! I think we should keep him! No, he looks great! 2. Miller...….What a smart player, great in tight, fearless, and a leader by example...…...I think it is what you want to see for your 1st round draft pick. 3...I was really impressed, how heavy of a game we played. Schaller, Beagle, Virtanen, Myers, Miller, Horvat, just to name a few...….To me this team is built for the long haul and playoffs..... 4. Demko, played well behind the team, that limited the chances, but it appears, we could have a goalie controversy .....I think it is a little premature to anoint him , but he looked solid. 5...I love Hughes.....he played a very sound, smart player, especially for a rookie, he made a couple of mistakes, but recovered in both cases and never really let the opponent get ahead of him 6. Pettersson and Brock, looked way better tonight...Like 3 points each, better! 7. Our PP looked much better tonite, aside from one shift, I give credit to Petey and Brock for that...…...I still think it is to static. 8. I can't really think anything good or bad about Ferland……..was he there? I guess not really for the Red Wings goal....he needs to improve He looks to the type of player that has pride and cares...….I will give him more time Myers is sure a beauty, hey! I love that little punch when getting up. Hank and Danny were shaking their heads...……..you know they were.... Well that is it for tonight.... I know that he can not undo do a whole team in a season, but I can see him nuking 75% of that roster within 3 years from now. That first line is good, but Mantha got stf down tonight tho after that :30s goal. Some really dirty crap from a few of those guys tonight. Telling ya now, if any Canuck pulled those ugly plays, the slewfoot, headbutt, several more.. I'd be the 1st to curse them out. The Red Wings are a dirty team. I hope they finish 31st. I think playing with Myers on his pairing gives him confidence.... he's got another big guy who has his back and who can match him for physicality. Eddy is the better of the two defensively, Myers is a better skater and puck carrier. Both of them have excellent shots. Hasn't been playing great I look forward to that game. I think Ferland will play a role in that game.
