It should be mandatory that all young Canadians have to work in the real world for one year before getting out if school and (being old enough) voting.

I’m up for something like this. You need to have paid at least X amount of taxes in the last Y amount of years before you are eligible to vote.
Prove your contributions to society before you get to vote on actions that affect society.

There are many ways one can contribute to society beyond how much money they earn.

Sure but I never said reward the people who pay the most, they already get taxed the most and the top 10% already contributes over 70% of all taxes.

What I said Is there should be a minimum bar that people need to pass before they get to vote. If you want to have a say where the tax dollars are used you need to have contributed to that fund.

True democracy and capitalism cannot co-exist as they are opposites.

Again explain please.

One example is the work place. Is it democratic? No it is my way or the highway. The only thing that makes it somewhat democratic is labour law brought about by unions (socialism).
How can you say we have true democracy when we spend half our woken day in a monarchy. (capitalism).
It is not just the political landscape that needs to be changed but the fundamental way we live and work as a society.

yes because you can choose not to work for that company and choose to find employee that meets your needs.

seems like a whole bunch of people here need to go back to grade 8 social studies. Free market

Really...how many companies do you know that are a true co-op? I am thinking most would starve to death finding one. Do we really have a choice or is that just the right wing rhetoric?

Why are you using a bastardized version of capitalism like the united states for your arguement.

For the exact same reason people use a dumbed down version of socialism.  Because it's pertinent.  True capitalism doesn't exist.  America has crony capitalism turning towards outright oligarchy.  Canada has a weakend form of democratic socialism that is trending towards crony capitalism.

Capitalism SHOULD in theory work, but then in theory so SHOULD socialism.

Neither do

Exactly.
I am not for Wexit (to get back to the topic) but I am sure as heck not for the status quo and if the Albertans think that the Conservatives will give them what they want they are barking up the wrong tree.

You get paid for the value you bring. If you don’t think you are getting paid properly, increase your individual value or go find another job. It’s really and truly that simple.

Capitalism is a free market enterprise which involves a willing exchange in a transaction.

That doesn’t mean the control is always going to be completely equal. It’s a pendulum that swings based on supply and demand. The more valuable you are, the more you get to control your demands aka Tavares in UFA.

So what you’re saying is that people, by nature, are competitive, and easily corrupted little devils?  Considering our nature it seems (by your accounts) people are going to be corrupted no matter the system.  So, what system is most fair; one that rewards hard work, or one that rewards laziness?  I’ll go fir the corrupted system that rewards those who work hard.

Only in theory my friend. Wish the real world was that simple.

It really is. Have you ever been forced to sign a letter of employment against your will? If so, we should probably report them.

The thing is the employers control the markets and a lot of the political policies.
You may want to up your level and look at the bigger picture.
