You literally never answered.  At all.  it was and is a yes or no question.  That you have not answered.  your excuses as to why and your endless deflections show the kind of man you are and that's fine.  It also means that there's literally zero credible argument anyone will ever show you that will change your mind.

Trudeau, BC, anything you don't agree with or that goes against your beliefs='s bad

Anything you like or agree with regardless of actual fact='s good.

You choose to believe lies, misinformation and BS because it jives with your beliefs and that's fine.  the world is full of simple minded masses easily lead astray.  One more person in the mix won't be noticeable.

Again it was answered you and everyone else can clearly see I answered it. But I think forsberg showed you how stupid your question is and what you just said about me is you in a nutshell but what I really want to know is if you have me blocked like you say how do you see my post? Must be another lie like the fuel receipt

Alberta is Canada.

As are all the provinces and territories.

OMG is that French or something?

I think we do agree actually. Which is why I find it surprising that you seem to want to cling to a failed approach to pipeline projects.

I know you want to hurt all Canadians because a politician did something you didn't like but yet you can't understand why the province that would be hurt the most by some of the decisions by another politician is angry about it in fact you and others laugh about it when it's Alberta that provides the comfy cozy Lifestyles that millions of Canadians enjoy

Second, regarding rail.  I know that Finland, Norway and the Nordic nations as well as Northern Japan all run rail through Arctic terrorizes including flat alpine plains, China runs through the Himalayan range as well.  Russia has numerous high speed rail lines that run seamlessly.  Running high speed rail through Lapland would be very similar to running across the plains here in Canada.

Here is a write up about rail use in arctic territories

https://www.hsrail.org/cold-weather-passenger-trains

When it comes to cold-weather innovations in passenger trains, China leads the way. The recently constructed high-speed line, capable of running at 217 mph, traverses some of the most uninhabitable climes on the planet. The corridor, running between Harbin and Dalian in northeastern China, sees temperatures ranging from 40 to -40 degrees Celsius. To meet this challenge China commissioned 22 reports and thousands of tests to guarantee the safety of the “ice-train” – the only-high-speed train of its kind. Some of the distinct features of this line are special snow and ice removing facilities to keep the power supply and signaling systems safe. Furthermore, China has introduced specially designed train sets for this corridor capable of withstanding the extreme temperatures. The CRH5A trains are based on Alstom’s Italian Pendolino trains, which can handle temperatures below -40 degrees Celsius.

In Europe, the Pendolino trains are key to making extreme cold weather travel possible. From the Alps to the edge of the Arctic Circle, these trains have revolutionized winter travel. Today Finland runs numerous high-speed lines, capable of reaching 140 mph using these trains. Routes stretch from Helsinki to Oulu in the far north and St. Petersburg in Russia. In Sweden, other high-speed trainsets can withstand temperatures of -35 degrees Celsius on the Stockholm-Ostersund route. Conventional Swedish trains operate in even more extreme temperatures deep in the Arctic Circle, on routes such as between Narvik, Norway and Kiruna, Sweden. Throughout Scandinavia, specially designed rolling stock connect communities that would otherwise be stranded for much of the year.

To connect Moscow with St. Petersburg, Siemens modified its Velaro train design to prepare for the harsh Russian winter. The new “Sapsan” trains include extra safety functions and were built with special-grade, cold-resistant steel and plastic. They also employ new technology that keeps passengers comfortable even in the worst winter conditions. By updating their existing technology to meet cold weather demands, Siemen successfully brought high-speed trains to Russia.

Oh shut up you are the biggest hypocrite on CDC since you joined. If you can't read that's your problem. I'll ask one last time.

Do you think it's fair that the UCP is asking private citizens to cover massive tax breaks for corporations that are still leaving the province.  Do you think it's fair that private citizens and municipalities have asked the provincial government for help collecting taxes and revenues owed but have been told that there will be zero help for them.  Do you think it's fair that services continue to keep getting cut but more money is being spent than in the previous 10 years?

yes

It was never answered.  I can dredge up your pathetic excuses for "answers" to a simple yes or no question but at no point in time will it show you have answered this simple question.  As for now, I've literally nothing to say to you.  You won't answer this time like you won't have answered before.  We know it, you know it.  you'll attack me again.  you'll insinuate something.  you'll cry and claim someone is a socialist.  You'll ignore it and claim someone loves or supports Trudeau.  you'll just outright state everyone hates Alberta.  You'll blame Canada.  Bills.  Laws.  But at NO time will you answer it and we both know it

You never answered my question and this is NOT your conversation to intrude on.  This is between me and Rowdy so see your way back to the kids table.

And much like I literally just stated, you trotted out the ol apple carts of obfuscation and degradation without ever actually answering the question you were asked again.

Okay ummmm hippie I jump in because RS and me share a similar stand and when I see three or more posters jump on him , why wouldn't I jump in?

I think you just a lil pissy cause I've painted you as a clown twice and your probably twice my age......

Sometimes hearing it from a different angle helps and people point out different things , I'm just trying to enlighten some people on how the oil industry isn't all evil but don't get me wrong , people on here enlighten me all the time and that's why I jump in. Also why I enjoy this forum.

Okay so the train system will work but you talked about how they hang pipe systems underneath and that's kinda thought you would have brought it up since it would be a smarter way to ship oil.....

Strome and I have been back and forth for a long time.  Trust me he doesn't need your help, but when you do you give him the opportunity to either jump on your argument and claim some sense of superiority or to ignore the question or topic at hand.  When you intercede you give him an out.  For a guy who talks the way he does he certainly doesn't need that, he needs to walk the proverbial walk.

You and I are certainly not double a number in age I can assure you of that as much as I can assure you that I feel your claims of a sense of business acumen is a shade over stated

Hanging pipes/infrastructure is actually sensible and brilliant.  Japan does this via vaulted archways to avoid damage during earthquakes, floods and to save space in metro areas, China has also adopted this method as has Turkey.  it is called micro tunnelling or MUTs and helps to avoid overhead or shallow placement of infrastructure that could be damaged easily thus affecting large parts of the city or every day life.  The issue in these cities is the cost due to moving existing infrastructure, turning off these vital grids to move them and the general nuisance of shut downs.  Where as in Canada, starting with these MUTs and then building the rail above them would cut costs don incredibly.

Alberta and oil

vs

The rest of the nation and common sense.

it's like an abusive relationship, they don't see it as anything but us vs them anymore.  There is nothing you can say that will change their mind.  50+ years of doing the exact same thing is not their fault.  it's everyone else's.  We're not even going to mention the timeline of when actual transfer payments started, who funded the first 20-30 years of oilseeds exploration prior to major corporate investment post NAFTA or why the current system is set up the way it is.  It's just everyone else's fault and if you agree, you love trudeau, you're a socialist, you're part of the problem and you're just trying to harm Alberta because you hate it

that plus they don't have to work collaboratively because they "carry us" and give us our cushy free healthcare lifestyle.

If they could cut AB in 1/2 and everything south of Red Deer formed a new country I'd say have at 'er  or just make Calgary a city-state, that would be neat actually.

I'm tired of the fight mentality / pity party / arrogance of it all. I wonder if MacKay is going to lose votes to #wexit supporters... I bet he does.

You said earlier that Harper tried to screw BC in fact that was a terrible post for you to make because what you did is just showed that wexit or the anger in Alberta is no different than what you felt in British Columbia however you want to sit and ridicule Alberta but think that you live in some high society holier-than-thou Attitude and that Alberta is just crying and whining. The reality is we fund so much in this country and without us you would be paying a 12% GST at minimum.

This isn't true at all just because you like to repeatedly say it does not make it true it's not the case that's not it at all. All this for the BC liberals was to see how much money they could make for the BC NDP it was to try and hold on to the environmental vote it's one big sham coming out of British Columbia. BC is the ones hurting the whole country for the last decade. Why should we be happy and fine with it so that our living standards can come down because you guys think you are some great people on the west coast news flash the very people you said you would get oil from if Alberta turned off the taps was the United States a country that has pipeline's going to the West Coast you guys look so foolish and hypocritical the way you act. As far as a moratorium that was just stupid because you said you didn't like the approach you think of moratorium is the answer it was completely stupid and if any of these decisions that are constantly taken by the Liberals specifically Trudeau's whether it be the national energy program or C 69 and c48 on BC's Main contributor to their economy and the betterment of the whole country in our case you wouldn't be on such a high horse let's put it that way but you know what us in Alberta wouldn't care that's why some of us gets surprised why so many of you in British Columbia crying ans complaining over how we feel if you're so unhappy with us in Alberta about it close your thread up turn the news off and don't worry if we leave or if we stayed but preferably we leave

I used her grating robe-voice to simplify what a MUTs or utility tunnel is.  The corresponding links contain all of the dry knowledge of it.  needless to say, China and Japan have literally thousands of tons of street, people, buildings and autos going over their MUTs every day.  Calgary to Thunder Bay has no appreciable permafrost to speak of and at worst would be dealing with Manitobas muskegs and swamps.

I've stood by a high speed rail line paired with underground infrastructure for energy for a long time and I won't change my mind on it.  canada lags behind the rest of the world in this and being such a large landmass, knowing Russia has done this and that high speed rail works in virtually every other northern extreme.  Not having one is borderline wasteful.  Pairing one with a MUTs corridor underneath it with floating pipe carrying various gas/oil/diluent lines would eliminate almost every potential environmental concern as it is a self contained unit and almost any non explosive breach would be contained immediately within said corridor.

If this was presented to Ontario, Quebec, BC as a package, any province saying no to it is effectively then unquestionably just being obstinate about it because there is little to no viable excuse to not go ahead with a program of that nature.

I used a variant of this doing exploratory in Belize.  Fun units to work with until the shot comes out to hot.

But this is effectively it, only it would need to be a much larger variant.  think 20 wide 10 high.  Vaulted archway.  Run 2-3 energy lines through it.  14-18 inch diameter, use the floating saddles like Alaska has  for their northern line in the 70s
