Odjick the Warrior Posted November 22, 2019 Share Posted November 22, 2019 (edited) Toronto sends Auston Mathews $11.635 million William Nylander $6.920 million Cody Ceci $4.500 million Micheal Hutchinson 0.700 million Arizona sends Derek Stepan $6.500 million Lawson Crouse $1.533million Barret Hayton. $0.894million Oliver Ekman-Larsson $8.25million Anti Raanta $4.250 million 1 first round, 1 2nd round pick (PHX picks between 2020 or 2021 drafts) This is the possible dynasty maker and break the 1967 curse by remaking the Leafs with young improving talent and a stud defenseman who can just shutdown opposing players in the playoffs and they get Raanta who can spell Anderson and they get a first and a second round pick which will reinvigorate the team and further reinforce that it’s Tavares team and he just needs his defensive stalwart and some young scoring that can learn how to play under Taveres. Arizona does this to get the hometown superstar who can live as the local legend and sell tickets so they can survive and they get Nylander who has not a bad deal for Coyotes first line player and they were going to trade Raanta anyways, but the real losses are Ekman-Larsson who become a living god after Leafs fans see what he has been doing for closing in on almost a decade and never really talked about and the two young players Crouse and Hayton and those two high round draft picks but if Mathews puts buts in seats and saves that franchise then it doesn’t matter who they turn out to be as long as Phoenix is competitive and Mathews is in the scoring title hunt all season long then Arizona sees this as a huge win. Nylander is a solid offensive player, top line winger. Ceci is a solid 4/5 d man that t.o needs more of. Matthews,Ceci and Nylander For Ekman-Larsson, schmaltz, hayton,raanta a 1st and a 2nd? That's a good point. AM is from there, and could do for the Coyotes what Gretz did for hockey in SoCal. Just taking Nylander too, is like a total slap, and add picks. The Leafs have Kapanen, who is way cheaper and better to fill the top six winger role. I think the Coyotes would rather Kapenen, but the Leafs would insist they take the cap dump of Nylander. They might have AM, but after giving up OEL they are going to start losing a lot more than they are winning. OEL is actually a more important player to winning games than AM is.
