Was AG 21 or 22 when he signed his contract?  He signed at the end of the 2017-2018 season therefore he was 21?  Isn't it 80 games before waiver eligibility?

That's 2 games from now, but I recall it being 70 for him.

Roussel will be a difference today imo. Won’t be tired like the rest of the boys due to the back to back.

Didn’t he play yesterday for Utica?

Trade value + cap space.

Yep something has to give.

Pearson has one year left at 3.75 next year and he’s a good player.

We should just sink a prospect / pick to Loui if we’re that worried about space.

No one is taking that trade for Loui. Not with 3 years term left.

And he's not playing tonight anyway, getting checked over again by team doctors before the full green light.

They are going to put his knee in a vise and they are gonna torture test it like they do swords on Forged in Fire.

Everything has a price.

Also, wby do we need cap next year?

Pettersson and Quinn are off the books at the same time Tanner is.  He gives no relief there.

The price would be 2 1sts MINIMUM. Marleau was 1 with 1 year left.

Still very early in the Calder race, but with Hughes gaining ground on Makar, it’s interesting to note the last time a team had back to back Calder winners was:

66-67 Bobby Orr

67-68 Derek Sanderson

Very rare company we could be in if Hughes were to pull it off.

Not to mention three finalists in three years.

Now you've sent me on a mission to do some hockey research...

Alright, results are in:

Prior to the 1967 expansion teams had three Calder finalists in the space of three years (two in one year is allowed for this) a total of 9 times, with both Montreal and Toronto doing it three times each.

Since the 1967 expansion, here are the occurrences of a team having three Calder finalists in three years :

It’s not unprecedented but it’s pretty rarified air... especially recently.

I don’t see Quinn beating out a healthy Makar despite being a year younger but damn what a hat trick of young talent.

Also worth noting what happened to both the Penguins and the Blackhawks shortly after that stretch of Calder finalists...

The other thing I like about that stat is all three of those teams won at least one cup in those runs. Montreal 86, Pittsburgh 2009+ Chicago 2010+
