CBH1926
Sad to see that Kelly Fraser has passed away. Her version of Diamonds song in Inuktitut is very beautiful. Rest in piece young lady. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/kelly-fraser-obituary-1.5409059

Dazzle
With the way they released the news of her death, it sounds like suicide and/or drugs. Both those topics from what I read are what she has tried to spread awareness about. It's sad to think that she ultimately gave up her own fight. Suicide and mental illness should not be overlooked. Don't take away your life. Talk to someone until you get help. And getting help doesn't mean being pushed into a mental asylum. Everyone has problems, even though we make it seem like we're always perfect in our photos.
-DLC-
Horrible...PTSD related suicide. So tragic when people lose the battle....especially when it's inflicted by cruel, heartless people who get their own sense of self through crushing others (often in a cycle of pain that they pass on rather than address). Bullying is the ultimate cowardly act. https://globalnews.ca/news/6347384/kelly-fraser-cause-of-death-suicide/?utm_medium=Facebook&utm_source=GlobalEdmonton&fbclid=IwAR1txeUE-bkAMFr0FKK6zhq3gggy767JT_tpf6Ail846ZygFGmiIyC_IdRg Quote Inuk singer Kelly Fraser spoke openly about her personal traumas and channelled her pain to help others before she died by suicide at age 26 on Christmas Eve, her family said in a statement. “She was fiercely open with her fans in the hopes that sharing her personal struggles might help them know they were not alone,” Fraser’s mother, Theresa Angoo, and her six siblings said in a statement on Monday, nearly a week after her death. READ MORE: Inuk singer Kelly Fraser dies at 26 They said Fraser died by suicide in Winnipeg on Dec. 24 following a long struggle with PTSD “as a result of childhood traumas, racism and persistent cyberbullying.” The circumstances of her death were unclear when it was first reported last week. “She was actively seeking help and spoke openly about her personal challenges online and through her journey,” Fraser’s family said. 1

Native community in Canada has been struggling with high suicide rates for a long time. So much money gets wasted on stupid stuff, instead it should be used to help people with substance and mental issues. 1
