The pick might not be high enough...but worth trying, NJ doesn't have 2020 2nd or 3rd round pick or a 2021 2nd round pick (which may be the pick NJ asks for?} Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Noble 6 Posted January 12, 2020 Share Posted January 12, 2020 I like the target, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for either team. The Canucks are already overflowing with middle/bottom 6 forwards and Wood would simply be thrown on to the pile, although he probably an upgrade on some of our current options. This trade simply compounds the situation for us. For New Jersey, I don't think that is enough value for them to bite. Getting a pick back does help them, but not enough to take back what is currently dead cap as well. They have no real reason to trade Wood; it would be similar to us trading Virtanen.
