Starts with a 1st++ UFA at the end of the year, could go after him then, IF the Rangers don't sign him to an extension. Leivo can make any top nine better . 3 positions filled with 2 top prospects for a 28 year old top 6 LW'er . I would how ever throw Beartchi in to balance the salary so then you have 2 nhl ready top 6 players , and 2 nhl ready prospects that are tops in AHL. I do agree, that Bo is the superior player this year, and Miller has exceeded expectations. But Bo and Kreider have almost the same track record stat wise over the last 5 years (so does Miller), and both key pieces of the leadership group on their respective teams, that's why the comparison. Boucher's AHL game doesn't transfer well to the NHL as we've seen, Breezer, need a bigger NHL sample size to get a better idea of where he's at before we go proclaiming top 4. I'd definitely like to keep Leivo if possible, because yes, he has been great for us this year. Just not sure we have what the rangers would want for him. Who cares what they did in the AHL. Former Canucks prospect Subban was an allstar in the AHL. Kreider scored 25 or more TWICE so far in the NHL. Think he's on pace for another 25 goal season. Reid Boucher and NHL prospect? The guy is 26!! Every team has fringe guys like Brisebois. Leivo is a pending UFA so of absolutely no use to a team that except trading one really good rental for a “meh” rental that objectively makes them worse, but not bad enough to ensure a really high pick. Remember when Jason King was traded for a top line forward? Neither do I. We trade almost no cap out and would need to be able to fit Kreider in? How is that done exactly? 2. We ship out a 3rd liner, a prolific AHL scorer who won't make the NHL, and an ok D prospect for a 1st liner? NY does not do this. 3. And NY is the one to throw in a pick? Is he 1/2 as good?? Is he worth a 1st round and 3 prospects ? Look at the last 10 major trades.. .Nyr needs roster players bottom 6 ....they have a pretty good prospect pool. For A few months of taylor hall. Terrible trade for arizona. In any of your proposals the value is ridiculously low in favour of the canucks. Krieder has never won league MVP. Krieder will never be a canuck after breaking Petey's nose. Krieder is redundant and not needed. Virtanen is looking to be that player, pushing Ferland, Roussel, Leivo down the line up.
