Isolated and work from home counts. In fact, it is the one thing we can all do right now.

The American numbers are scaring me. The Canadian numbers seem to be in control. Iran and China’s numbers may not be as low as reported, Italy is about to catch fire as 60 nuns in Rome test positive.

It’s all over the place and we must abide.

Nothing to credible just someone at the dog park said a doctor told them this. Take it for what is. Just trying to give people a heads up if their is any truth to it

Italy is the best case study right now.

53,578 cases

4,825 deaths

6,072 recovered

Report from Italy: Males twice as likely to die from Covid-19 than females regardless of  age group.

Naples, Italy (South) are on the same course to have the same numbers as Lombardi, Italy (North). They’re on the same curve but two weeks apart. This thing is now making its way down to the rest of Italy.

Italy has the second oldest population in the world. 1/4 of its citizens are 65 or older.

50% of Corovid-19 victims are 65 years old or older. Which means 50% are 65 and younger.

8% of Italy's doctors are now infected with Corovid-19.

Today 60 nuns tested positive in Rome.

UK death toll rising faster than Italy's.

51 year old in Ontario was tested for Covid AFTER he had died.

Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Labrador are enforcing fines if you're not in self-isolation.

I watched a movie called “contagion” the other night.  Matt Damon/LawRence fishborne amongst others.

a virus spread due to a bat.   Guys should watch it.   Very on par with what’s happening now minus all the deaths.

Very good movie. The messed up part is, this movie felt dystopian then. Now it’s just normal.

Kate Winslet dies to soon. She should’ve had a longer lasting role, even if her fate would remain the same.

Wonder if it’s from all that vaping younger people have been doing.

Philadelphia isn't arresting anyone anymore. They give them arrest warrants to be dealt with later, including the crimes of: vandalism, auto theft, narcotics offenses, theft from persons, retail theft & burglary.

Los Angeles arrests down from 300 to 60/day.

Two cops in New York tested positive, and 30 others From the same precinct fell sick.

I'm no fan of establishment, mainstream news - but dismissing this as a fake news hoax has seriously compromised Americans. ironically.

Japan  1,045 cases 36 dead           3.4% mortality

Canada 1,189 cases 17 dead          1.2% mortality

Maybe Canadians should do what the Canadian authorities tell them to do.

U.S.     22,132 cases  282 deaths    1.2% mortality

Italy   53,578  cases  4,825 deaths   9% mortality.

4.2% worldwide rate of mortality.

i appreciate the post

and the support it gives to following canadian authorities

but

it is still problematic to post stats

from the usa and italy

they  have not done the same level of monitoring as in canada

their stat reports are extremely questionable

the usa stats can be spun to be even more positive

since

they are likely more clear on the death rate from the virus

and much less clear on the number of cases

...........it would be safe to at least triple the number of virus cases there

which then using simple math - can result in a death rate of 0.4%??

i doubt anyone believes that is an accurate reflection of what is happening in the usa

i think in time

it is a better idea

to look at the population size of a given nation

approximate where they are in the coronavirus spectrum

(ie: when the surge has / or is likely to hit)

and then compare death figures to overall population size

this removes diagnosed cases numbers

as that number is likely the most unreliable

(assuming that most people are most interested in how effective a nation has been in dealing with this pandemic)

even based on these very limited stats

an equal outcome comparison between canada and the usa

is that usa should have 10x the death count as canada due to that be proportional to the sizes of the 2 countries

the usa is already at 20x the death count compared to canada

i think we will see that go up dramatically in the next 15 days

The US is very late in dealing with this epidemic.  The past 3 days they are finding +5000 new cases per day.  If this continues (or even increases) they will reach the +75,000 mark in 10 days.

Deepest sympathies to the Italians.  They are trending upwards to 7000 a day.

Pls people...follow the protocols provided by the Canadian/BC governments.  Stay at home if you can.

You can only work with the stats that are provided, which is why I never get freaked about a number till at least 1,000 people are counted as infected.

Also, age and general health of population (pre existing conditions) will skew the numbers.

I do wonder if obesity counts as a pre condition, if so the U.S. and Canada to a lesser extent is in deep trouble.
