Wonder what recipes call for toilet paper and hand sanitizer?

Also...do people not consider that clambouring over top of one another to reach the last supply on the shelf in the store also puts them at risk?  Personal space is a good thing right now but....gotta get 900 rolls of Purex.

It's sad to see this "GET IT ALL" mentality.  So if you take everything and everyone else has none, is that helping the big picture and preventing this virus from spreading?

You kind of have to learn that on your own. :P

I used to be one of those guys, I prided myself on the fact that if I saw something I wanted I would go up there and get it. Then came the day when I was in the store and the dude beside me had the exactly the same idea and we both went for same can, and it came tumbling down upon my head. Life lesson learned, never put yourself at risk for anything that is inanimate.

Let's not forget that those 900 rolls of Purex they bought at Walmart are probably caked in bacteria and germs from the 9000 shoppers that were already in the store that day.  If an outbreak actually does occur in your area, the grocery store is probably the first place its gonna show up.

Lol.....that’s nothing.  I’m old enough to remember my mother ‘volunteering’ to help her buy stuff at the annual Woodward’s 50% off Xmas wrapping paper, cards etc sale.   Those old ladies took no prisoners (not even for a small kid like myself).  Gordie Howe learned his elbow techniques from watching them.:P

So what have they been doing? Youtube What Edmonton doctors are saying about their own Alberta health. What the government is doing now is down playing the impact this virus has. They don’t want a huge panic, which is understandable but unfortunately not raising awareness and false information is the trade off.

What is happening in Germany? They are declaring this a pandemic themselves and pouring all the resources they manage to gather into combating it. What makes you think our medical minds are somehow more superior than others?

This is also unprecedented in recent history. Canada has never been hit with an epidemic outside of sars. Sars had a much lower infection rate than this one and only came to Canada at the tail end of its existence. The impact this has on a global scale already exceeded sars.

So yea, it bugs me when you say for sure that “they know what they are doing”. Every country that has been hit by this are unable to contain it, none. So when you say definitively that they know what they are doing or is confident that this virus won’t spread in our country is at best a wrongly optimistic view. No one on earth knows how to combat this virus, but you somehow think we can handle it? Out of what proof or evidence do you have to base this comment on? So we have a tight handle on this but some how we had 8 cases confirmed yesterday? Does the fact itself not contradict your false sense of confidence?

Even doctors themselves admit, using the Edmonton doctor as example, that they don’t know what the heck is going on.

I don’t think this virus will kill us all but it will impact a lot of people. Thousands of people have died, peoples lives are turned upside down in quarantines and city lockdowns. Economy is collapsing left right front and back. Look at the stock markets around the globe? Does global reaction to this virus not mean anything to you?

Please stop down playing the severity of the situation. Sure, most of us won’t get it and this will probably pass. But you think if not for the media blowing this up people would even be aware of this? Awareness is the first thing in this type of situation. Containment effort is done collectively. Everyone is paying the price to fight this virus and you are too so don’t act as if you can somehow see through this situation better than others.

in the absence of a vaccine, you need to be personally careful and follow the basic instructions on how to be safe. Our government systems are doing their job testing and isolating people. Thats it buddy, thats the plan. Freaking out and panicking does nothing.

If you can't handle the reality of this, thats fine, but if my approach annoys you, please feel free to move on to someone else. I really don't care if you're agitated, thats up to you to control.

I guess you could use it to clean up a murder scene?

Probably not the spokesperson Costco wants.

I am one of those people with a lowered immune system , same with my hubby,  I am not downplaying  this situation  at all.  I am actually afraid to go out  of the house.  maybe I am not getting this but I will ask anyways , why is everyone going crazy over toilet paper? I can see water and hand sanitizer but I don't get the toilet paper!
