To NJD: Thatcher Demko + Tyler Madden

To VAN: VAN 1st round pick that TBL just traded to them for Coleman

It makes a ton of sense for everybody involved...

JT Miller for Demko and Madden.. Stealllllll..

Makes ZERO sense for Canucks.

Why do we need to gut our goaltending depth for a 1st round pick?

Madden is a very good prospect, would likely go late 1st round in a redraft.

We are in win mode now, we don't need to dilute our prospects unless its acquiring someone who can play and contribute now.

Rather lose him to Seattle or are you letting Marky walk this offseason ?

I'd rather sign Marky and trade Demko. Madden is still a crapshoot.

And none for NJD either.  They have Blackwood in goal who they really like.  They have Brodeur who is pretty well positioned to evaluate goalies.  No reason to add Demko and block Blackwood.

Fitzgerald says he's building around Hischier/Hughes - both are rather slight.  Madden is not going to dislodge them at C1/C2.  If Madden is C3 it makes them so light down the middle.

#1. Marky will not walk this season, we will sign him for another 3 - 4 years, somewhere around 6 million per.

#2. We won't likely lose Demko to Seattle, its much more likely that we will make a deal (as many teams did when Las Vegas came in), a pick for Seattle to take the player we designate.

#3. Madden is absolutely a crapshoot, but he's showing that the faith we put into drafting him was not misplaced and he's exceeding ALL expectation. A late 1st round pick is also a crap shoot. Past the top 10 - 15 picks, you really don't know how they will or won't develop. There are a lot of guys past 15 that never reach the level that you had hoped.

I would much rather take my chances, summer 2021 and see what Benning can do, than gut the team on a knee jerk trade.

Goal :  get the 1st round pick back.  I think build a trade around Stetcher

If the goal is to recoup a 1st. A trade built around Stetcher is not going to do it. He’s a bottom pairing guy who can fill in in ten top 4. Every team in ten league has a couple guys of his quality. No one gives up a 1st for a package where he’s the primary piece

Fitzgerald in his presser of yesterday after the Greene trade.  He was talking about how they have already big pieces in place - Hischier, Hughes and Blackwood.  Says they are very confident in Blackwood.  They tweeted the interview.
