It’ll be interesting to see if his family moves with him or stays. Some guys can handle being away from their family. But he’s never lived and played in a different town than his wife, aside from road games, could be tough...hopefully this will all be a great experience for him and his wife so they want to stay beyond this season. I’ve always liked him as a player...great add to the team. Really hope he stays!

Good trade turns, into great trade if Toffoli re signs here. Or the Pearsson Horvat Toffoli line do something special in playoffs and they go on a 2 or 3 round run. If Boeser gets healthy, oh man, that 2nd line with Pearson, Toffoli, Horvat can do some damage with dirty goals and keeping the opposing team hemmed in their own zone as all 3 guys are fantastic down low and in the corners, absolutely perfect for playoff hockey. Another bonus of Toffoli being on the team which I don't think anybody has mentioned, he'll add some juice on PP2. Not too often we can trot out a proven goal scorer in the 2nd unit 2

This looks mostly like a pure and simple rental. But does Toffoli want to play for four or five years on a losing, rebuilding team, or does he want to play good hockey with a chance to win? Also, do LA even want to throw a contract his way? It seems like useless move, one JB would be crucified for.

I think.

He could be back for the first round. Still think JB rocked it with the deal. Madden could be a new NHL player, he could be the the next Schoeder. Still a good player and I wish him well. As for the 2nd and 4th... Tiffoli is on pace for 30g this year. Best buds with Pearson. Lots of potential for a resigning with both. I like that JB played his cards well, didn't tip the hand that Brock was out for longer. Don't think LA wouldn't have asked for more if they knew. 1

Jake and Troy are RFA's so they can be on the back burner for a bit. If JB can keep Marky, Pearson and Tiffoli, we would be a very solid team next year. Vancouver is a fantastic city. Lots of great jobs here too. I don't see this as problem. Besides, Tiffoli would have to go back to the team that didn't want him anymore or go to a rebuilding ducks. Not alot of good options in So Cal atm. The wheel has turned back north in the Pacific division.

Okay... I don't have a problem with that. Still Pearson potted like 10 after coming here last year. So TT will likely score 25 and could hit 30 or in between. He is going to get similar minutes and have lots of looks. Either way he is also auditioning for a new contract, so he and the club are both motivated to see him score. Yes I didn't realize that Hayton had actually made the coyotes this year. Oops, shoot me. Now I make an math error and my 'insight' half assed. Popular Post skategal
Happy with the trade, bird in hand so to speak in terms of giving up Madden and picks. None of which would help us this year, probably not next year either. Sad to hear about Brock and how long he'll be out, but happy we had a GM that took immediate action to support his team. Now there are no excuses for them to freefall out of playoff contention. Not expecting a Stanley Cup this year but certainly need to make the playoffs for the team to continue to develop. So much can be learned once they get into the fight. Intensity ramps up, spotlight ramps up, unless they win a round in less than 7 there are few if any breaks in the grind. Less penalties called, more at risk for taking stupid penalties, it's all a needed step in learning the pro game. Chance to bring up more players from Utica if they are done so the kids can learn even from the pressbox. Toffoli brings playoff experience which will help and by all accounts he's a great character player for the kids to learn from. 1

We're not privy to all the back channel discussions that must have occurred for this deal to go down. You can take it to the bank....Toffoli is NOT a rental! SilentSam
Damn, it going to be a busy Summer for JB... especially if it’s short be good to get a lock on Markstrom and then work from there. This deal has the added benefit of showing ALL players wearing our Crest that this team is doing serious Buisness to bring a fantastic / special group of lads together.. it will be up to them to spread the wealth and be able to stay together. Be special for us as fans if they do. 1
