Great team game and loved that we kept pace in the shots column.  Kudos to Stecher and hope he remains a Canuck after Monday.  Nice to see the Toffoli goals and I hope we can re-sign him.  JT awesome as usual.  Motte's tenacity was apparent.  Good to see Loui score.  Great team game all around and everybody played good.

Just watched the game on pvr

fantastic effort

bo led by example

hughes was elite

ep, Miller and Toffoli were dominant

d was solid

stetcher haters can suck it

green had them ready tonight

liked how we shot first and asked questions later and upped our physical play

great game boys !!!

No love for the 2nd line? The Pearson Horvat Ericsson absolutely crushed the Bruins tonight. Probably the best skating game Ive seen Loui play, the guy LOOKED like a 6 million dollar player the way he was skating tonight.

Very quietly, Motter has been stringing some really good games for us, just absolutely skated hard regardless whether the game was close or out of reach. If we do make it to the playoffs and he plays like this, his spot in the lineup is absolutely safe

Loui has been stellar of late on the forecheck. He finally got rewarded big.

I expect him to be a key factor on our route to the cup.

Yeah Makar definitely plays an intelligent game though. It's not nearly as flashy (though it definitely can be), but 9/10 times from the games I've watched he's making the right plays. Both are absolute studs but I really think Quinn is gonna get screwed over unless he pulls away with points this season. He's riskier but he makes the more difficult play and he pulls them off which is absolutely marvellous. I don't think enough votes come from the most knowledgeable people from the west coast so there's gonna be a lot of bias going into voting.

In 9/10 times, the smart play for Makar is give the puck to MacKinnon. Quinn doesn't have that option, because he is MacKinnon of Vancouver Canucks.

As you said, there is a chance that Quinn gets screwed by Eastern writers that don't watch the Canucks games with enough regularities.

Terrific game by the entire team... I don't think a single player had a bad night.

Marky and Bo set the tone... Marky by coming back to stone the Bruins after that cheap shot stick in the face and Bo by flying around hitting, scoring and taking no sh*t from anyone.

All the role players were on top of their game and smothering the Bruins... Motte, Beagle, Gaudette, Virtanen, Sutter, etc. etc. breaking up plays in the neutral zone, killing penalties, jumping on the Bruins D... they gave Boston no chance to get a rhythm going.

Both the top lines were playing hard... Pettersson, Miller and Tofoli were all around the net taking advantage of their opportunities.  And Bo, Pearson and Eriksson were relentless in the forecheck.

The D was great... most of the time pucks collected and out of the zone in one or two efficient passes.  Even when the Bruins put on some pressure, most of the time they didn't crack, but found a way to turn over the puck and get it out... Edler, Stecher, Myers, Tanev and Fantenberg were great along the wall moving Bruins off the puck and knocking people down.

But for me the key guy in the game, (besides Markstrom who was great as always) was Quinn Hughes.

I am beginning to believe this kid is the next most valuable player to Marky.  He is so smart, so skilled, so effortless in his skating, so shifty.  He is so dynamic the other team gets drawn to him like a magnet... then someone on the Canucks gets open... and the puck is on their stick on a perfect pass from Hughes.  He is also equally dynamic defensively... he can skate the puck out of the zone or make a pass from deep in the corner like few players.

I love Pettersson and he is a STAR, but Hughes may ultimately be the more valuable acquisition.  Hughes WILL win the Calder unless he is injured.

I still think Green is the wrong coach for this team... he doesn't have the skills to teach them the offensive game they could play... but there is so much offensive talent on this team now that it doesn't really matter.

The only cloud on the horizon is there will be a big time CAP crunch in the future.

---

Oh yeah... What a bunch of thugs the Bruins are.

From start to finish of the game it was the same old same old.  No Boston wasn't satisfied with their cheapshot on Petersson in Boston, they feel a need to continue in Vancouver.

First the fly by stick in the mask of Markstrom.... if you really believe that was accidental then you really need to watch the Bruins more.  They know Marky is the key to the Canucks success, and they wanted to take him out of the game.  It's always the same with the Bruins.... someone on the opposing team gets injured by a 'unintentional accident'... and that player is a key for the other team.

Then when Bo starts to show he is going to dominate the game... they start with the slashing and hi sticks.... if you believe Bo got mad enough to fight for no reason, you are living in dreamland.  Coyle was hacking and slashing for multiple shifts before Bo dropped the gloves.

Then Myers makes an excellent clean hit and Chara jumps him without giving him a chance to turn around or drop the gloves.  All those who think Chara is a nice guy need to start watching less of After Hours and more of what is happening on the ice.

Then the next few shifts after Pettersson scored his goal, they started head hunting him... You could clearly see Chara and serveral other Bruins players try to line him up for a cheapshot... fortunately Petey has seen that show before and managed to avoid getting nailed.

Then the Bruins got distracted by another Canuck when Quinn Hughes did his magic and make them all look like fools... so they start with the slashing and hi-sticking on him.  Hughes got high sticked to the face at least twice that I saw, behind the play and when the Refs weren't looking.  More of the usual Bruins cr*p.

For whatever reason the league lets these creeps get away with this stuff... and its usually worse in the playoffs.

Canucks really should bring over Tryamkin for exactly this reason.  Put him in the lineup and play him whenever they are up against the Bruins... Chara would find he is a little more challenged by Big T.

I really want to see bo have a big game tonight. Show some snarl, show why he was made captain. For the last little while he's been far too gentlemanlike. I get that hes trying to emulate Henrik Sedin but bo has to realize he's not Henrik and never will be. Bo should try and emulate someone like Dustin brown when he was leading to the Kings to their cups. Hated brown, but he was a great leader for them. Similar physical builds, similar stats... Bo needs to impose his will more, hes an ox.. He doesn't have the skill to try and be Henrik.

I posted this before the game and Bo came out and delivered exactly what I wanted from our captain. Great game. The fight was perfect. No hesitation, this is the bo i want to see on a nightly basis! Hard nosed, don't take crap from anyone and throw that weight around.

Me as well, willing to admit

I'm in Morocco and didn't watch the game, saw the highlights but what did Jake do specifically other than the last goal? Please?

Also can't find a clip of Bo's fight, against who?

Thanks, boys, for a fantastic game.  Doing appliance repair on my day off with two trips covering three stores to get parts had worn me out.  Was worried that the Bruins were gonna put the cherry on the crap sundae of my day.

Nicely done!  GCG :towel:

We are not soft, kind of a firmer team than the last 4 years with much higher, younger skill and enthusiasm. But, we have playoff caliber goaltending.
we could be a dangerous playoff team!

In our division anybody but LV we can beat in a seven game series, I am convinced of that!

As everyone's said, Bo's best game in awhile.

There's been an undercurrent of criticism for Bo not being good enough as the new captain..

Well well, he shattered that tonight. Led the way from the beginning.

I still find it funny that many on here would've traded Jake years ago. Also funny that Jake's development was questioned throughout the years.

He's been a bit better but there's still room for improvement.

Consistency has still been a big issue this year and he can be a lot more physical than he is. No reason why a guy like Motte should have the same amount of hits as you being 5'10'' and having played 35 less games. Imagine someone with Jake's size, speed and talent with Motte's motor/drive.

Other than that I am pretty happy with the step he's taken offensively and with the little things.

Perfect game, huge win, beauty defeat the top team!

Toffoli is the scorer of the team.

Miller played wonderful.

Hughes is not real,

Marky is solid.

Bo played very hard,

Stretch suddenly surprised me.

Motte quietly became an very important piece of the team.

GCG!!!    we will be the playoff team!!!
