Below is the first paragraph of that story for information. If interested you can read the full story at Fast Company's Compass newsletter. Please forgive this techno-illiterate for not attaching a direct link to the published article. Free public transit, what a concept. In 2021, Seattle will have a new hockey team. And when hockey fans head to a game at the new arena where the team will play, they could choose to sit in some traffic on the freeway and pay for parking downtown, or they could hop on a bus or light rail—completely free of charge. NHL Seattle (the team doesn’t have a name yet) will be the third sports franchise in the country to offer free public transit to those going to games, as a way to ease traffic congestion in the city, increase access for fans, and do something good for the environment. 2 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I hope Seattle becomes our Buffalo when it comes to Canucks road games. I'd like to see some organized fan trips to Seattle by bus you can sign up for. I just did a quick search, the Clipper terminal is 15 min walk away from the Arena. Do the patrons just tell the driver they're going there? Totally curious. I mean, just because you wear a jersey doesn't necessarily mean you'll be going to the arena itself. No but a small investment in public transit, maybe saves lives? Here on New Years Eve they've been having free transit all night. How about the hordes of people just sneaking onto the train in general? There are lots of unnecessary public services that come out of my tax bill I don’t like but am not going to complain about.
