I was born in 94 and didn't start watching until 98 so this team is reflective of who I have watched over the short tenure.

Daniel-Henrik-Burrows

Naslund-Morrison-Bertuzzi

Pettersson-Kesler-Linden

Brashear-Horvat-S.Kariya

Ohlund-Sopel

Edler-Bieksa
Jovanovski-Salo

Luongo

Markstrom

Chose Brashear because he was probably the most entertaining scrapper IMO this team has ever had.   S.Kariya holds sentiment for me as he was the first asian decent player to play for the team, someone I looked up to and paved a way for myself to be inspired to play the game.  The hype around him was pretty unreal but definitely cheered him on.

Likely too young to remember (bit of a blur to me as well) but you would've gotten a thrill seeing the Canucks and Ducks opening the '97 season in Japan! Just too bad Paul didn't make the trip at the time.

The All Technically-Legit-If-You-Don't-Read-The-Fine-Print Team:

Steve Kariya                        Fedor Fedorov                  Bure
Mike Robitaille        Richard Lemieux                Sundin
D.Sedin                      H.Sedin                                    Neely

A different Taylor Hall           Pettersson              Naslund
                     Richard Park                    Sean Pronger
           Mike Stevens                   Drew Shore

Rob Murphy                   Felix Potvin
                                                     Derek Roy
                                              Richard Brodeur

I'll allow it, doubt any cap circumvention needed to take place to ice such a team full of big names ;)

I don't see how Brashear competes with Odjick (took on the entire Blues team) or Tiger Williams in terms of entertainment as a scrapper.  And Tiger was an All Star.

Some of my main memories of Brashear are him skating away from fights...

That's fair, but both of those guys were before my time so I didn't see either.  From my own perspective since 98 Brash was probably the most entertaining fighter at that time and up to this current point.

Lumme Lidster

Jovo Salo

Erhoff Ohlund

John Van Bees Brook

If you are picking a player for what he did After he left Canucks in Neely

Then you have to include what one accomplished before a Canuck in Messier (You cannot deny what he was before a Canuck and where he is in all time League standings

and John Van Couver Bees Brook (?) accomplished what as a Canuck?

I thought about Mess but I just couldn't stomach it. Your point is valid but since it's my team I pick the players.

I just wanted to write "John Van Bees Brook" and put him in as a third stringer for kicks. He was technically a Canuck but never wore the sweater.

We could ice a pretty good team with what they never did as Canucks

Rick Vaive - Lays Chips Piggy - Neely

Bill Derlago - Barry Pederson - Mogilny

Gary Leeman - Jimmy Carson - Owen Nolan

It was no accident that he quickly went on to win two Cups the second he wasn't stuck on the Canucks anymore...

Him getting to lift the Cup was pretty much the only thing that made me slightly happy about the Rangers winning in 1994.
