Sundstrom quite handily took the victor for #29, though there was still definitely some consideration given to several other players. There were a lot of nominations this last round, but 2/3 of the nominations were for just two players, Jannick Hansen and Tiger Williams. That said, Williams came out on top this time with 11 nominations, so Dave "Tiger" Williams was added as a voting option.

Reminder to both vote and nominate another player to be added as a voting option!

For those of you who haven't seen these kinds of polls before, the way they work is you vote for who you think is the greatest/top Canuck at the position. As for what is meant by "Greatest" or "Top", I will leave that to each individual. I have my own interpretations, but others may define it differently. Worth noting, that I do want to keep this to their tenures with Vancouver and as players, thus a player like Neely would only be considered for his Vancouver time and guys like Quinn and Crawford would only be considered for their playing careers, not their coaching careers.

A bit disappointed that Rota's not getting much support yet, but at least Sundstrom got in pretty quickly. As I mentioned in the last thread, I'm now voting for Petri Skriko, scorer of 30+ goals for four straight seasons in Vancouver during the 80s.

Continuing in my journey of nominating Darcy Rota, one of the ever underrated goal-scorers.

One of the only players in the recent era to have / earn a legitimate nickname that would have been worthy of the 80s and earlier.

Tiger, The Rat, Rocket, Golden Jet, Strangler, The Hammer...  Honey Badger

Not the crappy 1990s and onward nicknames like Net Detective, Finnish Flash, etc.

Honestly, it's a great one

Horvat might have fit in too with The Ox

Kind of weird that his junior nickname hasn't stuck too much in the NHL.

All of the nicknames from the 90's on really just involve putting a 'y' at the end of the player's first or last name (e.g., Millsy, Petey, Eddy, Danny, Marky, etc.).  They've lost a lot of colour over time, that's for sure.  I'm pretty sure these nicknames disappeared around the time the league started to clamp down on bench-clearing brawls.

BTW, voting Kurtenbach and nominating Gary Smith once again.
