RGMG is a sim league using Eastside Hockey Manager and the 2006-07 roster database. Please read the rules below... ROSTER RULES Spoiler A team must consist of at least 20 players (12 Forwards, 6 Defenceman, 2 Goalies). The maximum roster size is 23 players (with maximums of 14 forwards, 8 defencemen or 3 goalies). SUBMITTING LINES Spoiler You may send in your lines to @Patrick Kane in the following format: 5v5 LW - C - RW LW - C - RW LW - C - RW LW - C - RW LD - RD LD - RD LD - RD G G PP LD - RD - LW - C - RW LD - RD - LW - C - RW PK LD - RD - LF - RF LD - RD - LF - RF 4v4 LD - RD - LF - RF LD - RD - LF - RF SCRATCHED X X When making changes to your lines, please bold the changes you have made since the previous lines. You can put forwards on the point on your powerplay. ENTRY DRAFT AND PROSPECT GRADES Spoiler The entry draft takes place at the end of every season after the playoffs and will consist of 3 rounds. Patrick Kane will release a spreadsheet which consists of 120 players. The top 30 players will include scouting grades and NHL comparisons for teams to get an idea of the kind of player they may be drafting. These players will have a rating along with a letter grade ranking their potential. The ranking system is as follows: 10 - Generational 9.5 - Franchise 9 - Elite 8.5 - 1st line / #1 8 - 2nd line / #2 7.5 - Middle 6 / #3 7 - 3rd line / #4 6.5 - Bottom 6 / #5 6 - 4th line / #6 5.5 - Depth player 5 - Not NHL ready The letter grades A, B, C, D, F indicate how far they are from being NHL ready and reaching their potential. An F player may take 3-5 years from being NHL ready, and another few years to reach their potential. An A player likely can play in the NHL immediately (not always) and will reach their potential much sooner. The other 90 players will have all attributes hidden, and will only have their ratings released if they are drafted by a team. It is possible to gain some scouting intel on players by using 'draft scouts'. Read further on for more information. Players will be assigned automatic contracts based off of their draft position. These contract values will be released shortly. SALARY CAP Spoiler The salary cap will be $45.5M. The salary floor will be $25.5M WAIVERS Spoiler Only players with caphits of $1.75M or less can be placed on waivers. Players will become eligible for waivers once they are 25 years of age or older If a player is below the age of 25, they may freely be sent down to the minors. (as long as they are paid less than 1.75M IN THE SYSTEM Spoiler Players who have just been drafted may continue their development in the CHL, NCAA or Europe. These players won't be eligible to be called up to the NHL until they are playing in the AHL. TRADES Spoiler Trades are to be sent in to both trade trackers in the following format: To Team X: Player Z, 2007 Team Y 1st To Team Y: Player S, 2008 Team X 3rd Once a trade has been sent in, please remember to send in your updated lines to @Patrick Kane. There is no cap retention in trades at all. - You are allowed to trade pending RFA rights. Once you have re-signed a pending RFA, you are allowed to trade him at any time. - You are not allowed to trade pending UFA rights. Once you have a re-signed a pending UFA or a UFA from Free Agency, if you trade him before you reach the 20 GP mark, you may find it hard to convince any free agents to come join your team the following season. HOW TO SIGN RFAS Spoiler Our league will operate under an arbitration style system for RFAs. Players 26 years of age or younger will be RFAs. RFAs will only sign a 2 year deal (exception if they have played 4 full seasons, they can sign a 5 year deal) Message the RFA Agent @Patrick Kane with the years you would like to sign your player for The RFA Agent will then provide contract values based off our contract guidelines. See example below: If a team decides not to take the RFA Agent's offer, the player will be eligible for offersheets in free agency, however if they are not offered an offersheet in Stage 1, they will re-sign for cheaper than the agent's original value. OFFERSHEET COMPENSATION Spoiler 0.5 to 2M - 3rd round pick 2.001M to 3M - 2nd round pick 3.001M to 4M - 2nd round pick + 3rd round pick 4.001M to 5M - 1st round pick + 3rd round pick 5.001M to 6M - 1st round pick + 2nd round pick 6.001M to 7M - 1st round pick + 2nd round pick + 3rd round pick Picks must be in the following year, however they do not need to be the team's original picks. HOW TO SIGN UFAS Spoiler UFAs are signed in a traditional way. You PM your appropriate agent and sent them an appropriate offer based on the Signing Guidelines below. Example: SIGNING GUIDELINES Spoiler DEFENSE The higher their points/TOI and the better their GA/TK ratio is, the higher end of the salary range they will receive. An RFA would be in the lower range but potential is also factored. 0-15pts: 0.500M to 1M 15-25pts: 1M to 2M 25-35pts: 2M - 3M 35-45pts: 3M - 4M 45-55pts: 4M - 5M 55-65pts: 5M - 6M 65pts+: 6M - 7M FORWARDS Based on year to year consistency. An RFA would be in the lower range but potential is also factored. Centers and defensively responsible players add to their value. 0-10PTS: 0.500M 10-20pts: 0.500M - .750M 20-30pts: .750M - 1.25M 30-40pts: 1.25M - 2M 40-50pts: 2M - 3M 50-60pts: 3M - 4M 60-70pts: 4M - 5M 70-80pts: 5M - 6M 80-90pts: 6M - 7M 90ts+: 7M GOALTENDERS Based on their 'current ability' in game, goalies will be ranked on tiers by Patrick Kane. Then year to year results, age and consistency will come into play in where in the range they come in. BACKUP/ELITE BACKUP: .500 - 1M 1B STARTER/YOUNG STARTER: 1M - 3M LEGIT STARTER/ELITE: 3M - 4M ELITE/FRANCHISE: 4M - 5.5M FRANCHISE/GENERATIONAL: 5.5M - 7M FREE AGENCY Spoiler Teams will have the opportunity to offer for free agents through a Google Form. Here, teams will have their one and only opportunity to pitch an offer to a free agent. Free agents will then pick which offer best suits their needs the most. To make things easier for teams offering, the free agent spreadsheet will describe what type of offer each player is looking for. Any free agents who remain unsigned will advance to the next wave. In total, there will be 2 waves of free agent signings. REVISED PERKS Spoiler Draft scouts: Outside of the top 30 in the draft, there are 90 prospects with no information except for their name. You can use 'draft scouts' on any of these players to receive more information on them. The amount of draft scouts you receive will be calculated via the following: For every 1st round pick you own = 1 scout For every 2nd or 3rd round pick you own = 2 scouts There will be a time period after the playoffs where I will calculate the scouts. This will be before the draft. Any picks acquiring during the draft will not give you more scouts. You cannot exceed 15 total scouts. You will have to submit your draft scouts before the 1st round ends. Depth chart Everyone will receive their organizational depth chart at the start of the season. Player scouting / Position addition Everyone will receive 5 internal player scouting or secondary position addition. Player scouting will tell you the following: Current Ability, Potential, Player Type Secondary position addition allows you to add another position to a player, so they play better in that position. (Example adding LW to a C) Prospect update Every 20 games teams can request an update on ONE prospect. At the end of the year, they will receive all of them. AV.
Honestly, I have zero interest in this league. I was totally fine with being fired and I only agreed to return because I didn't think it was fair that some GMs had to suffer because of the league potentially folding. There are some great guys in this league that didn't deserve to be punished but at the end of the day, I didn't see myself being active going forward and that's not fair to them or me. For those of you that reached out to me yesterday, I am really grateful and I'm sorry if my resignation causes further problems. Good luck. 2
