With the 4th overall pick, the Leafs are happy to not select Sven Baertschi.

I was starting to get worried after the deadline, but the team finished strong and got 100 points. Looking forward to the matchup against Montreal, should be a good one. Time for some more meaningful team awards.

After a 114 point season, the Sharks took a slight step back, but still finished 3rd and have a date with the Blue Jackets in round 1.

Both teams have a 40 goal scorer in Nash and Michalek, with a handful of other 20 goal scorers. The Sharks seem to have more high end firepower, in particular at C, but Columbus looks to have the edge in depth (highlighted by the workhorse Mike Grier).

On defense, both squads have lost Pronger, but still boast pretty good groups. Zidlicky/Russel/Klesla vs Ehrhoff/Carle/Vlasic. Pretty even.

In net it's Cam Ward vs Kari Lehtonen. Both great goaltenders capable of going on a run.

I think this one goes to 7 games @Go Faulk Yourself. May the best almost-boomer Brandon win.
