Guys like Adrian Aucoin, Matheiu Schneider, Andrei Markov, Tomas Kaberle, Jason Smith... Now with the cap crunch, the luxury of having defensive depth is gone. As well as Mikka Kiprusoff leaving puts the entire focus on Corey Crawford in net. The cap crunch forced several moves, and opens the door for some prospects to earn a full time role. We wish Michalek, Clowe, and Gorges all the best going forward. Anchored by Quick in net with Yandle and Regehr manning the point for the majority of the game, it will give the forwards more flexibility to drive the offence. With a few young guys taking a step and Samsonov giving us more balance, the playoffs should be well within the plans for this year.
