After being sent down to play on the first line, rather than the 4th in the NHL, Jarno Siren has 20 points in 20 games (14 goals), a Shooting% of 12.7%, and an AVR of 7.45. Guy might be ready next year for 2nd line duty, but don't want to wreck his development. Roberto Exelby with a faceoff percentage of 57% and 284 hits, which is great for someone that should likely be my 4th line center in the future. Nice development from Dirk Thomas as well, who should start seeing time in the NHL two years from now. The nicest surprise, though, is Marcus McLean. The recent 18 year old, 1st round pick and Scott Hartnell comparison, has a 7.34 AVR, 109 hits, and 35 points, which is terrific for an 18 year old.
Popular Post Patrick Kane
More prospect info: The grading system simply shows their MAX abilities. So a 7.5 can max out with 'middle 6' attributes. However, depending on the prospect and player type, the player can become a very potent offensive or defensive player, but likely weak in other areas (such as skating, puck skills, physical, defense) Great example is Tino Boschmann, who was actually a 10.0B in the draft, but he had such amazing offensive attributes, but piss poor defense and physical, he was able to hold his own in the NHL, surrounded by great talents such as Milan Hejduk, Martin Havlat, Matt Duchene, and Nathan Horton. A 8.0, 8.5, 9.0 etc, will be much more well rounded, due to their larger MAX potential ability. The player type indicates which attributes will grow most likely. So in theory a 7.5 Sniper/Finesse player could be a better goal scorer then a 9.0 Defensive player, however the Defensive player will produce comparably and be much more reliable defensively and play on the PK. Defense is very important in EHM. Also note, that your 8.0C doesn't equal another players 8.0C. Since grades are in ranges, one prospect may be in the higher range. There are many current NHL players that produce consistently, and if I were to give them a grade they would be in the 7.0 - 8.0 range. A lot of good current NHL bottom 6 players would be in the 6.5 - 7.0 range. The letter grades just indicate how close they are to the NHL and their potential. A grade = Ready / 1 year away B grade = 1 - 2 years away C grade = 2 - 3 years away D grade = 3 - 4 years away F grade = 4 - 5 years away An A or B grade prospect has a higher likelyhood of reaching their potential, since they are already closer to it. Also it's good to have some solid veterans in your line up, to surround the prospect with. Los Angeles Kings have done a good job of this.
