Timbermen
I just edited the post and added all the B.C. born players to ever play for the Canucks according to https://www.hockeydb.com. I always thought Barry Pederson was from Nanaimo, he was born in Big River Sask. He did play for the Nanaimo Clippers in the BCHL and Victoria Cougers in the WHL before being drafted by Boston. https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=4209
Captain Canuck #12
That's great! Would be interesting to see an all-time team for every province as well. Got any time to work on that?
theo5789
What are the odds that there are two Greg Adams from BC both to play on the Canucks on the same team at one point? With how much BC talent that goes through the NHL, it's too bad we didn't get more of the elite ones like Burnaby Joe or Stevie Y.

IBatch
Great list - very impressive. Think Robert Dirk was from Kelowna but not 100% sure he was born there... Born in the Kootenays I always heard about the local players from my Grandma and my uncles (one of who was a pretty good hockey player himself). Also have a friend who grew up in BC and played against Neely and Wendel Clark (and called them wimps which is good for a laugh) - fringe player himself had his growth spurt after the NHL draft and missed his chance as result 5-10” all the way to 6’2” 230lbs by 20 ... played in the WHL and Tri-City)...eventually gave up in his mid 20’s but it was fun to watch hockey with him and have him comment against the players he played against - and he’s one of thousands that were very good hockey players - just not good enough to make it and always new it was hard on him - set him back 7-8 years. Tambellini, Travis Green, Ray Ferraro and Adams were the talk of the town during their playing days when I lived in Castlegar for high school...small towns take a lot of pride when someone makes the NHL which is pretty cool. 2

Sure Quebec and Ontario could make five teams each that would compare but still that teams got a ton of heart in it (and eventually probably 7 or 8 HHOFers on it too). BC couldn't compete with Ontario or Quebec most likely, but it would still be interesting to see how we would stack up against teams from Alta, Sask, Manitoba. Not just players who played for the Canucks, but their all-time Provincial teams vs. ours.

Lol, added him because the Canucks honoured him on Dwali night as the first player of Hindu descent to play for them. I thought it was a point of interest. I decided to edit later and include every player from BC to ever play for the Canucks. The other provinces aren't complete like that. I will continue this thread when i feel up to it. Quebec next, then the Maritimes. Eventually i'll make all country teams too, Sweden will be an awesome one.
